What did you all do to strengthen the old wedge chassis steering posts for long risers? Does someone still still sell 4130? Not looking to save weight here. Just don't want bending.

I used a 10 inch long 3/8 rachet extension made by Husky and bought at Lowe's. Fits snug so not epoxy or welding. $8.00. Grind off part of the female part to clear the bar clamp.

Thanks, I had no idea that the wall was that thick that a an extension would fill the hole...So the ID is a standard size??

The post is made out of a tubing and is not a standard pipe ID. That is why you will need to measure it if you go with a steel rod. You ought to double check the extension diameter.
