Staying in a cabin at TML = bliss

This place kicks Azz! Although they need a lot more snow it is such a peaceful place to be and we'll worth the drive from the metro area.

Hoping to come back Sunday after some fresh pow falls

Couldn't agree more! Drove 19 hours from Chicago area and has been well worth it! No snow in over a week? No problem, I have been able to find plenty of area that is untouched - it is so large it can't all be tracked up!! Couldn't ask for much more

I arrived earlier and going to try and stay Sunday too. Headed to delta the next 2 nights. This place is awesome

Should've stuck around. Today was epic and the snow keeps falling! I'm staying in the big cabin. Checking out tomorrow but not leaving until my arms are like noodles! Big Props to TML and Mark. I ripped a track off my sled first night. He got me all set up in the shop to install the new one. Ready to rip again tomorrow.

Friday was weak, tracked out and very few honey spots

However, I'm sure today was much better with the freshies.

It amazes me that a year ago the snow was better and that was a horrible snow year. I love TML and the mesa but it NEEDS big snow. I can't wait to go back in March after some huge storms and exposed rocks covered.

Kebler today was SPECTACULAR!! Incredibly soft and deep but did set off a nice avy sidehilling

I had a blast Friday and was able to come across many areas with few tracks. Oh well, Friday was Friday and that was then. Now - New snow and more to come overnight. I think you should rethink those thoughts of it being weak and all tracked. No honey holes needed, it is quickly becoming one massive honey hole!

Was with a guy who has been riding the mesa for years and every place we went it was tracked up or too dangerous with massive boulders exposed everywhere. I was there last year and these boulders were that much bigger. The mesa needs a solid 4 more storms to be where it was last year, I know this storm was a good start but for putting 45 miles on my sled and finding rocks all over the place I'd say it needs a lot more snow. But, thankfully I'm in Colorado and once it covers up more I'll be back to enjoy the coverage. It was good to see these places so thin, makes me appreciate whats under all the areas we rode last year. Still had fun just nothing as good as kebler, it was incredible! hopefully vail pass is covering up, just like the mesa so many boulders I've never seen are all over the place, crazy.

Super cool mark could help fix your sled, that's super handy. Seems like he really has the best interest for the people. Too bad rosco's isn't there anymore. billy was great!

Sounds great, we are heading there for our first trip next weekend. We normally stay in Saratoga, Wyoming and ride the Snowy Range and Battle Mountain but we thought we'd try Western Colorado, really looking forward to it.

Really looking forward to it.

Anything we should bring for the week stay?

Are their any good places we need to try to eat dinner at?

Hillside,
This year is so much better than last year on the Grand Mesa. They got over 30" a week ago and they just got another 12" and it's still snowing. The riding is awesome! If you keep finding rocks and can't find untracked, you need to do some exploring.

If you're staying at one of the lodges there's really only the one restaurant to eat at. Bring food, on mtn snacks, beer, tools, and a set of nuts if you plan on finding some untracked areas. Aside from what some people are saying there's plenty of snow up there. There are definitely some thin spots but there's also some DEEP stuff around. Just gotta find it :)

Zone, were you the one that had the unfortunate luck of tearing your track off the first day? Trying to put a face to the SnoWest name

Yessir that was me...
Very unfortunate but my buddy/mechanic bailed me out and brought me a used track. It was actually Cole Wilfords hill climb track so needless to say it was a little beat up BUT it got me back in action. What were you riding?
