Throw in a couple of out of state trail permits and you might have a deal.

Took 3 sleds to ride into Warren last year for one day, $98.50 for the trail permit. I can't imagine we did that much damage to the trail (Warren Wagon Road).

Not sure if I will be dragging my out of state dollars to Idaho to ride anytime soon.

I had to pay the same type of out of state fees when I rode out of Pindale Wy a couple years ago. I just chocked it up as one of my costs of the trip, besides I had no problem supporting the local grooming trail system. Oh and yes it was a 1 day ride but well worth it. Hope in the future you don't let our trail fees stop you from coming over. Each to his or her own though.

Wow! Just when gas gets to where the average joe can aford it and you hear about prices like this to ride one day. I guess I'll just stay closer to home and go three times as much.

What is this trail permit stuff.. I by my idaho license and pay groomer fees.. but 98 bucks.. that's rediculis.. So please fill me in..

Rather than people just registering their sleds here they just bit@# about out of state fees. It is cheaper just to register your sleds here. And this thread was not started to be a bit#$ing session so take it somewhere else, We are just trying to give you guys that don't live here a break

just to clear the air, an ANNUAL trail permit for the ENTIRE STATE OF IDAHO is like 33 bucks a year, per sled.

So, yes, if you have 3 sleds, and you ride one day, it will cost you 99 bucks or so in stickers, 300 in gas, 100 in hotel bills, and 5,000 bucks in sled depreciation.

So let me ask you something. The day you rode to warren last year, HOW WERE THE TRAILS??????

(never ask a question you don't know the answer to)

I will say this. The Super 8 has a LONG, LONG history of supporting snowmobiles, has huge parking lots, and rumor has it even has a hottub.

Thanks for chiming in Doug. Yes we do have a hot tub and plenty of parking if you will park sensibly in the lot. I did alot of talking to the boss here about lowering the rates to SNOWMOBILERS ONLY, I was pushing for $65.00/night but he said the lowest is $70.00/night. Good deal I think?

Thanks for pushing for the sledders Hunter!
I have always wanted to ride there, rode everywhere else on this continent but McCall. I will see you in the next month or so!!!!

Thanks for getting us the rate.

I went to Revy last year and stayed at the Comfort Inn... When we checked in they asked if we were sledders or skiers. I asked if it made a difference. The lady said yep... cheaper for sledders. I can't remember the amount but it was 10-15 cheaper for sledders then skiers. That's my kind of place.
They also took one of the rooms and made it into a drying room for your gear so you didn't have to hang everything up all over your room. They had wire lockers with a big fan and the heat turned up. Worked out well.
As for the out of state sticker thing in Idaho... it is what it is. I ride in WY every year and have had to do that for years and I think it's close to the same amount. When we went to Revy last year we had to get a trail pass everyday we rode their. I want to say it was 15.00 a sled a day. Makes for an expensive week just leaving the truck.
I've stayed at the Super 8 many times and the parking lot and rooms are great.

My wife was born in Valley county and I was a resident until I moved to Oregon for employment. Now when I go back for christmas to visit family and enjoy the conditions I didn't appreciate the extra dinger to ride the trail for a day. This is especially painful after finding out the Tamarack ski hill is blocking access across the top of the ridge (West Mountain) until a permit is bought from them as well.

I'm not opposed to paying my share, but the rental fleets had made a mess of the "trail" and were ignorant about trail etiquette.

I'll grin after Oregon no longer recognizes out-of-state permits as well. Idaho used to have reciprocity agreements with other states to promote tourism. Now, not so much.

dude, i don't know where you come up with this crap.

tamarack doesn't have a special sticker or fee.

as for the 'rental fleets", they pay more for their stickers, donate many thousands of dollars each year to the program, and introduce thousands of folks a year to our great sport.

some of us once upon a time rented sleds.

volcano, how bout you posers stay home and let us enjoy McCall! I mean damn dude go take some tylenol and go to bed! I have found McCall to be very enjoyable YEAR AFTER YEAR!! I say don't come back! On a better note it's snowing out today:D:D:D:D

I agree if you going to complain about the fees try riding in the yakima area especially the Ahtanum, you will be greatful to pay for those grooming fees. My wife and I having been going to McCall since 1996 for 8 days at a time to ride, we have dumped alot of money in that town over the years and glad to do it, in fact we have brought at least 12 people with us everytime we ride there, OH by the way our daughters name is McCall, in our opinion that is the best place in the world to ride, but we also have a special interest there (kind of a one sided opinion) anyway you can worry about those fees just license them dont get the one day permit i believe its cheaper in the long run.Sorry I take it a little personal when folks start bashing McCall.
