standard rmk to pro rmk? 155 vs 163?

just looking for any information or experiences u guys have with a standard vs a pro if its worth buying the standard and putting new shocks and stuff. also what do u guys prefer a 155 or a 163? Thanks for the help

If you're going to buy a standard and put the extras on it, why not just buy a pro...

the track difference on the ground isnt a whole lot, but either is the price. i think only $200 between the 155-163.

i bought a 155 personally

I bought a standard 155 and put Fox shocks from Carl's Performance all around. I did this because I wanted shocks that will perform in the manner that I will be using them, not the broad spectrum of riding styles the factory sets up a sled's suspension with. Also, I'm outside of the "average rider" weight, height, pretty much everything lol, so I needed to re-do the shocks regardless, so why spend extra money for the nicer shocks on a pro when I have to take them off and have them rebuilt to my liking anyway? If you are in a similar case, then yeah, go ahead and buy the standard and stick nicer shocks on it.
I like the standard for its extra cooling capacity and it's pivoting riser on the steering post, I've always preferred that style--easier to work on and adjust. The only thing I would change is build a standard 163", since I'm a bigger guy, I would like a little more track I guess.
All in all, there are perfectly good reasons to buy the standard and stick a little money into it, and there are perfectly good reasons to just buy the Pro version. Either way, great sled.

I have a standard RMK and love it. It runs cooler than my wife's ProRMK and I prefer the handlebars and controls on the standard RMK. Haven't noticed that much of a difference in the shocks, but haven't had that much seat time on her sled.

I replaced the red hood on my RMK with a black one for $100 and just bought and installed a takeoff 163" track for about what I'm getting for the 155" I took off, so basically I'm only into it for the cost of the rail extensions and my labor.

This thing really runs well with the 163" in the deep snow we had last weekend.

I have the STD and did exit shocks up front and timbersled rear. After selling the stock suspension parts I'm not into it much more then it would have cost me for the pro and I love the way my sled feels. I prefer the handlebars and the better cooling so the only thing I really gave up was the lightweight rotor and drive shaft which is no biggie.
