Got there early to aviod the masses, surprised at how little snow there was and how big the trees have gotten. We managed to find some pow but I would advise to wait for more snow or stick to the roads. There is no base as of yet and I found it pretty easy to get into trouble breaking trail, luckily it was downhill and only had to build about a hundred yards of road to find a way out the bottom(Lots of air pockets surrounding those little trees) and in the open areas you don't have to dig down too deep to find "stuff" http://www.youtube.com/v/W3pw3R5ElJw?version=3"

Thanks,ya' I did kiss the cowling on my way by it, maybe a good reason to get rid of it. There are plenty of landmines just waiting for those who dare to venture, just the one, or two today we were pretty lucky. Tried to squeeze as much offroad in as we could by running up the banks and hitting the powder that people left for us on the shoulders of some of the less traveled roads (thank you) kinda like marking your territory. A lot of rigs parked on the side of the road when we left, so what pow there was should be gone by tonight, so until we get more snow you can have it all. PS. don't follow the tracks coming down thru the shortcut thru trees at the southwest end of Lost lake you won't be happy, on second thought, it's not so bad NOW.

I was up there with a group yesterday too. Snow is getting better, we found a few spots to tear off into the trees and have some fun, and had one sled casualty and it wasnt even condition related...I burned down another top end :face-icon-small-sad

Ya, snows great just need more of it (base) it's rare to get such quality pow in the Cascades. Did you enter your casualty into the "Towed out Pole" (POLL) :deadhorse:

we were there too.. we stuck to sliding pieces of wood sideways as a base needs to happen before serious sledding goes down.. i'd rather rock gouge my board than stump break my sled :)

Thought I saw a Nytro/snowboard parked at sawmill flats under the powerlines when we came off the mountain next to a van, wondered if that might be you. Next time I'll stop and say hi, I'm sure you were able to get some footage to add to the library, just enough powder to be good for making some turns. :thumb:
