stampede grooming

I think the state took all our money and used it for something else. Nothing is being groomed and we now have snow. Ive been to montana and Idaho and their stuff is groomed beautifully. Hate to rant but it gets worse every year.

FYI - there is an I90 Corridor Grooming Google group if you search as don't have in front of me on phone. They are not going to go in there if avy condition is RED with warnings posted to stay out backcountry. Yes there may be some they could do relatively safely but as rule thumb if that high warning they aren't going to risk and can't fault them for that as don't expect them to know if safe area or not.

To quote the most recent post in aforementioned Google Group:

Hi Everyone,

The Avalanche Danger is HIGH everywhere today, tomorrow it may drop one level in the Kachess area we will see if they change their mind. On the east end of the district it HIGH at all levels today and tomorrow. That means that we can not get on top to groom from the Blewett Snow Park. When we can, we will groom those routes.

We know everyone is waiting for us to groom on all the east end routes, but they all have avalanche spots on them. I hope to groom the Kachess route both tomorrow and Saturday. Be safe and know the avalanche prone areas and stay out of them. John

this is getting real frustrating not having our snowmobile trails groomed but the click clicks have theirs done numerous times a day. We have a cabin here and we watch them go by time after time yet nothing is done on our trails. This is nothing but BS. We had this same issue last year and it seems to be getting worse every year. Makes a person not want to pay for tabs for their sleds... Extremely flustered!!!!!!

grooming?

I guess the key is safety and patience. On Monday, I spoke with the contractor that plows/grooms the GW and Stampede/Crystal Springs area. Same guy does both and travels between and keeps up the best he can. As far as the safety aspect, the avy danger is extremely high right now and their safety is paramount. It was evident to me at GW when we noticed several small slides along the road. On another note.... if you are riding GW, you neeeed to bring chains... People were blocking the road who were either sideways of stopped heading to the upper park, preventing the plow from getting to the top..... Take care and ride safe!

Groomer was almost at the main power lines when we were on our way out, around 4pm today. Should be nicely groomed tomorrow.

We got up there at noon and had face shots all afternoon! Super fun day. Better than I expected.

Washington Grooming is a JOKE!!!

For the most part I would agree with the above statement, but...

The Fish Lake area deserves props for their program.

If they have snow, they're grooming very regularly.

AND...they even update the snopark/grooming website on a regular basis if you can believe that. :face-icon-small-hap

The trail system is very nice and well marked...just a bummer it takes us west siders so long to get over there.

Almost have to make it a three day weekend to make it worth the trip.

grooming

the grooming at Lk Wenatchee , sugarloaf is great the equipment and operators are great. The gear at Stampeed must not have a blade that moves up and down to cut and fill the whoops. the groomer just puts corduroy marks on the whoops and calls it good

Exactly what would you like the Groomer to do?? There hundreds of sleds going out of Crystal Springs snow park on a busy weekend, in case you haven't noticed each sled tears up the snow and the trail. Would you like the groomer to go in front of you each and every time you would like to ride and not let anyone else go riding. Snowmobiling is a sport in which you take the good with the bad, good riding conditions are not dependent on the Groomer. I love to ride and love to ride the Crystal Springs area and think the Groomer is doing a great job, but I like to ride not BITCH!!!

Just got back from Montana, Grooming there sucked but had a great time!!! Maybe you should try more riding and less bitching!!!

Salmon La Sac Grooming

The grooming may be bad at those areas but I would like to thank 32nBelow for the job his crew does at SLS. It really sucks to come down the mountain on a bumpy road after a hard ride. But they keep those roads in top shape, and I thank them for that!!

was at stampede today, grooming was pretty good, much improved over last weekend. saw grooming machine seem smaller than one at fish lake, can not be sure, thanks to the groomer!!!

or maybe we could learn from our canadian friends and ditch the bs program we have here.

sometimes private is better.
