Stacking hay

I did yesterday. They were big round bales though....so I just worked the joystick and listened to country music.

My wife is making me field load 400 bales tomorrow in the 95 degree heat. I wished i could do it late October-that would be a great early season back workout!

She is! You Canada fellas know the saying "if momma ain't happy, then nobody's happy". You guys have wifes up there right?;)

You got any grass hay, second cutting? That stuff is unreasonably priced around here. $150 - $220 a ton. And, I've been informed I'm loading 5 tons in two weekends, and 5 tons in another 2 weeks. Lucky we only have 3 grass burners. :)

You'z need some technology.

we use a harrow bed and hand stacking, we(6guys 2 drivers 2 stackers and 2 buckers) have 324 bales tied down and ready to go outta the field before the harrow bed can get one load of 115.

it works pretty good we can get usually 1400 to 1600 bales a day

we just got done stacking 3400 round bales last week used 2 trucks hauling 20 at a time and one tractor haulin 10 at a time..... took forever! baled for a week and then stacked for another week. in 2 more weeks we will be stacking another 2800 round bales.....im so sick of hay...i hanvt had a day off for the last month and been workin 13 hour days on average.. starting to feel like a nascar driver drinving in circles all day lol..oh well...lots of $$$$ for sledding this winter! :D

so I know nothing about hay, other then I'm glad I don't. How many bales make up a ton, and how do you figure how much hay you need?

That is like 3720 tons of hay, you must have one giant operation!!!

not spoiled. Don't have horses anymore. So we just sell it dirt cheap and let them pick it up themselves

it would almost be worth driving there to pick it up,, since they are getting $$$$$$$$$ 414.00 a ton at the feed store for alfafa, and $385 at the local hay dealer in Western Washington
