If any of you just happen to be in this corner of South East Idaho, the weather is supposed to be perfect for a day of quading at the dunes on Saturday.

Will be out there for most of the day breaking in my son's new DVX quad.

Would be fun to cross paths with any other SnoWesters.

Well, this turned out to be one of those awesome days at the dunes.

Absolutely PERFECT weather, no mechanical problems at all, loads of open sand to ride on, and even though the parking lot was packed to capacity, the dunes were almost EMPTY.

An Epic day with my little boy!

Ya, it was.
Its nice to get out and have a chance to spend the day with my son. Its not something I do nearly enough of.

Now I have to find this kid a sled of his own so he can come with me this winter.

Question is, will we get a BIG SNOW so we can go back to the dunes with the sleds?

Thats the crappy part about the dunes they close them on dec 31st. Everything west of thunder is closed so makes for crappy snowmobiling out there..

dunes would be fun on a sled, but it would be solid white and there would be no refrence points and i could see dropping off into a fatty snowdrift out of nowhere, but god it would be so fun to sail of a razor back and not hit anything :) or sidehill all the way across choke cherry lol, wouldn't be that hard climbing it...

So our only hope is for a hard snow down low before then!

I have looked everywhere for ANY video of photos of anyone out on the dunes SLEDDING and never found a single one.

I would LOVE to try it!!

That would be FINE with me!

You can find me and my sons out there most any week all summer long. With 30 miles of dunes, there is plenty of space to go and place.

my youngest son LOVES to ride through the trees down by the lake and play a game of "Cat and Mouse" where each try to loose the other one and sneak up behind them. Its good to be a father and have sons!
