I learned something new yesterday, that spring snow is awesome. lt had last snowed over 10 to 11 days ago. Because it was in the 40's, the snow softened up a bit and it was super to ride in as the ski had tracked better than in any other condition and the track also hooked up better than in pure powder but that float we get from being in the soft snow was still there so it made the ride(ing) amazing.
It was also nice to not have to layer-up and when stopping, being comfortable. I even had the chinbar on my modular flipped up as it was that nice out.
It is almost April and it will be in the 40's every day and with the sun being so much stronger, the snow had already gotten cut down by 1/2 from last week and the mud is growing out there. By next weekend, most of the trails will have too many open places to make riding the snowbike worth it, the sled, maybe as it is so much easier to power the sled over the mud but as we know, the snowbike is a lot harder to get to slide on anything but snow. I don't mind as the season was stellar. My bike ran and kept on running as did the kit. The Camso DTS 129 was super and all I'll have to do for next season is to just put the kit back on and go.
I'm looking forward to getting the kit off and the wheels back on and commuting to work and getting back on the dirt.
