y-pipe

I've ran many different pipes and cans on F's, king cats, m7, and my new m1000. I had a D&D y-pipe off my m7 crack along the weld. I talk to them on the phone and they asked if i bought it new or used. I didn't want to lie so i told him i got it used it didn't matter he told me to send it in. A week later had a brand new y-pipe at my door now that's taking care of business like it should be. For me D&D is what i will run good pipes and good price and the people are great to deal with. you would think the company's making pipes and cans ride to so would want to help there fellow sledders out guess not

bought a SW. can for a 2006 m7 when they first came out. installed it on the sled and ended up with a bad bog at about 4800 rpms. called speedwerx they said they had tested this can on many m7 and never had a problem, they told me I must have a problem with my sled. tried the can on my sons m7 also had the same bog. called them back up told them I wanted to send it back for a refund, they told me sorry it has been used. not long after I had this problem they started printing in their add that they have found that 1 in 10 sleds will create a bog with the can. This was the first and last purchase I have made from this company and don't plan on doing any businesses with them in the future.

Ya know.....

I was really looking at getting a whole set up from SW. All of this of course was based on what I've seen on SledHeads 24/7 and from hearing Chris Burandt talk about them etc...etc.... Honestly after reading this, I'll never send a red cent their way. To charge someone for a part to FIX the part you sent them in the first place.....I mean...come on man, thats piss-poor. I've never heard of a business doing that EVER!

Also, to see the clear disconnect (or sorry attempt at covering ones A$$) between this Jeremy fellow and apparently EVERYONE ELSE HE WORKS WITH is down right appalling. I mean really, asking people, "Who did you speak with?" or "Well, everyone here knows we have a 1yr warnt." is B.S.
YOU KNOW the problem. YOU KNOW who these people have talked too. Hell bro...apparently, YOU WORK THERE RIGHT?!?!.....FIGURE IT OUT!!!

To see a company who makes snowmobile performance parts, TREAT FELLOW SLEDERS THIS WAY is just down right infuriating!

Oh well.....it's like Gramps always said. "Good riddance to BAD RUBBISH."

So if I pay $432 {25% off} origanally $540 just pipe. I can get a new pipe that probably won't hold up. So I suppose you want me to pay shipping to get it to you and pay for the repair.

warranty

I too had a D&D y-pipe crack (m7).It was over a year. They replaced it no questions asked.I had a pair of klin gloves replaced under warranty.this was great execpt it took all season to get them back and the new ones tore all to sh$t in 2 rides.
Cutler send me turbo weights for my sled.(no wonder I was 1000 rpm down.phoned them up and they said to send them back and they would fix me up.I hope thats a new set of the correct weights.
I agree these companies should stand behind there product and keep the cust happy.
just my 2 cents

Thanks for saving me big money!

I too was just getting ready to let SW do a complete turbo job on my M8 and now I will for sure be looking elsewhere! One thing is for sure, HISTORY does repeat itself and I will not be the next sucker after reading this thread! Thanks guys and maybe this will be a wake up call for SW. Gonna have to start fast forwarding through the segment on sledhead 24/7 when SW comes on to tell you the latest greatest thing that they are going to put to ya!

I was going to leave this alone. As an aftermarket company they dont have to have any warranty at all. You guys should be glad they are at least trying to help you out.

I believe your outlook is somewhat confused. Speedwerx is a high performance parts company. They build race and performance parts that are advertized to perform to a certain level. Rather that level be quality, power upgrades, or weight reduction. Granted there product may cause you to loose your factory warranty, or cause engine failure if not used properly. This is by no means should excuse poor workmanship, poor design, poor material choice, or lack of real time testing. I also believe if a company goes the extra mile for the customer that they will flourish in this particular market. So many performance company's give you the cold shoulder when you have problems with there product.

I purchased a Speedwerx 925 pipe for my M8 and upon installation I found that the fit was poor and did not line up correctly. After talking with Jeremy at Speedwerx I shipped them the pipe back. They shipped me a new pipe the same day my old pipe was received by them. Speedwerx also paid the shipping each way even though it was very expensive due to me living in Alaska.

I can not say anything bad about Speedwerx. They so far have been helpfull and expedient in taking care of my problem. I would hope that they would due the same thing for me if my pipe cracked next season or even the following season.

Last summer I bought a used 09 M8 Sno pro that had a full SW pipe set on it. I'm running it with stock air intake, and no fuel controller. SW had great customer service with me providing me a fuel map for a boondocker box and other suggestions - even though I was not the original purchaser. I really like the product, and from what I read, the fit and finish is better than other pipe mfg's because I have had to do NO hood mods from melting etc. I also got the stock pipe with the sled and have used it a bunch. The SW pipe creates far better power throughout the whole RPM range and makes the sled just sound and feel better! Speedwerx seem like a cool vendor to me - :thumb:

X2 for me. I bought a sled with the SW set up on it and I called them for boondocker numbers and other advise and they gave me muliple e-mails with info that I can use. No disappointments here.

waste my $450.00 then ask me to spend that much more less 25% for possible the same thing is totaly azzanine. Do they think we are stuipid,
They should cover their cost and then mabey 10% to take care of the customer that just spent way more for their dam product than its realy worth in the first place. If you make 1000 parts of any kind you will have some fail, the key is how you treat and take care of that customer.
I buy all these kind of parts in aug.- sep., WHY so when it snows I can just ride and enjoy this very short season!!!! Not be sitting and waiting three weeks for you to ship me out a new one.
When you sent me the first one it only took hum? 3-4 days, so why so long for warrenty. (dam I hate shi tty companys) If you want to stay succsesful take care of you dam customers! We Choose to spend our money with you and that can soon change!!!!!!!

Maybe I should stay out of this but I have asked 3 times now who you spoke with ? Still no answer ?

Don't know when or where you purchased the pipe to tell if it is under warranty or not. To everyone if Detz pipe is under warranty he will be sent a brand new one for free.

I left my contact info hoping for a phone call to help resolve this for the customer but no call just more bashing on the forums.

Also one of our new pipes is 445.00 ceramic coated, this also comes with the updated band / clamp as well. If not under warranty you could get a new one for 25% off of that.

I am probably throwing myself under the bus here, but we have had EXCELLENT results with the products and the customer service. One thing I always tell my customers....if you have a problem, call ME. I will call Speedwerx and take care of it. The dealers job is to take care of the customer. Remember, your dealer is looking at you across the counter and is there to take care of you. Speedwerx is dealing with thousands of customers they never will or can see. That is why the dealers are important. That is why we test products before endorsing it or recommending it.:face-icon-small-win

I had my then dealer(Midwest machinery) JohnDeere and arcticcat dealer.Get me the parts but they are no longer a arcticcat dealer. I would love for them to take care of this but they won't because there out of the business.

1 year warrenty doesnt sound to bad , does D&D offer lifetime warrenty ?

i have done a lot of work with speedwerx over the years and dont have anything but good experiences

Detz, We are both in Minnesota, our shop is just a 20-30 minutes north of the cities. You can swing by with the pipe if you are close enough.

They only placed 4 orders with us ever, and only 1 m-1000 pipe kit so it was easy to find. The pipe kit and can were purchased back in Sept. of 2008. When did you purchase it from them ? If it was within 1 year it is covered under warranty. Just need a copy of recipt to verify date of purchase to the actual customer.
