HAD MY SPEEDWERX PIPE FOR 800 MILES IT CRACKED AND WENT TO *HIT. ALL THEY SAID THEY CAN DO IS SELL ME A NEW ONE. LIKE I WILL BUY ANYTHING ELSE THEY SELL. BUY FROM SLP. ANYBODY ELSE HAVE ANY PROBLEMS.:face-icon-small-fro

I dont have a lot of experience with Speedwerx, but when I called earlier this season about their Clutch kit for low elevation 2010 M8's they made me feel like I was bothering them. Maybe I just caught them on a bad or flat out busy day....who knows.

I will say that I have had great experience with D&D, and did have a M7 Y-Pipe crack last year which they covered with a brand new one. D&D have always been good to deal with. Although not exhaust related, I have also had great customer service from BDX.

I dont know the whole story, but it is too bad they wont even offer to fix it for you. I have had Aaen Performance do pipe repairs for me that came out looking like new; I had a flange on a twin pipe setup rust out right at the cylinder...They made it look perfect and did not charge a lot of $$

Companies like SW will figure out eventually that making a decent product isn't enough. I used to recommend them all the time till they screwed me once... I know quite a few people that have not bought from SW since then.

You know what they say, do right for someone & they'll tell one person, do wrong to someone & they'll blab it incessantly online to thousands!!!!

I try to tell folks about all the companies that DO take care of people to average that out.

I won't buy from SW again unless they change the way they do business.

I ordered a pipe set for a m-1000 and it showed with a y-pipe for a m-8 and they said i neede to send back the y- pipe and it would be two weeks or so until i would get a new one they neede to figure out who screwed up and if i did not ordered it that way so i had to buy a y-pipe for the 1000 at full price and now i have a m-8 y-pipe brand new for sale???

I run slp on my 162 1000, first season blew up the can and they replaced it no problem, not even half way through this season it blew the bung out of the pipe and cracked behind the y pipe.no way to see it uless u really look any way they informed me that my warranty ran out 4 months ago but will give me a good deAL ON A NEW ONE..HAHA YA RIGHT GET F---ED.. AM having it repaire at the lacal machine shop..hopefully they can weld better..good luk

Customer service

Dont you just hate when a company can make a good product that performes well for what you want and you have get a bad one,(one that comes apart or breaks) and befor your call to them you told anybody that would listen how much you loved that part and in a ten min. phone call they can just screw up the hole thing.
Dont they get it its the happy customer that sells their product not all the adds. The adds get them thinking and asking about the product and the asking is what gets it sold.
Had a HPS can on my 06 M7 and loved it then after 2 years and 1200 miles the insides came apart. HPS said that his can didnt owe me nothing, 2 years is good, I said if it was a good part it would last 10 years and 4500 miles like my SLP pipe and can.HPS then offerd me a discount, last years price and mabey a refund if it was defective, funny thing is the new part that I bought from him had 2 inches of dust on it (so last years left overs ?) and then no refund should have seen that comeing.
Should not have bought a new one from him.My bad, now I hate the dam thing.lol. new can is spot welded just like the old one if he spent 10 more bucks on welding it all the way around and then chardge me 10 more he would have sold 2 more this year alone.
Ok enough about my ***** sorry you had bad luck with SW and wish they would have treated you better, that could be me next year, just bought a pipe this year
I said funny

I bought one of their cans for my 900 and it cracked all up. I called them and they said they knew they were cracking so they changed their design and I should buy a new one! Now thats taking care of your customers....not!

D&D service

I have a pipe from D&D, this year it broke after about 2,000 miles and I figured I was screwed...called them up and they told me to send it in and they'll fix it for free or send me a new one, no questions asked!!! Received my pipe two weeks later and it was pretty much brand new with a fresh ceramic coating...D&D is at the top of my list and will be my #1 supplier for aftermarket parts...

M1000 SLP pipe broke right along the weld, they sold me a new real cheap. The "Y" pipe weld came apart sent it in they fixed and you could not tell a thing was wrong with it. Told a buddy about the service, his exhaust bung broke on his SLP pipe he sent it in and got another one back, was it his fixed or a new I don't know but I have no complaints with SLP and there service. I will also give a thumbs up to Klim and there warrenty department. The better service companies will rise to the top in the end.

Same goes for me on the same thing. Have called them a couple times to order parts and each time it felt like I was bothering them. So now I just get everything from slp or dd racing. No issued with either of them.

detz1000, Sorry about this but do you know who you spoke with @ Speedwerx ?

Did they let you know that our pipes come with a 1 year warranty, if not covered under the warranty we can look at repairing the pipe, or offer you a new one at a discounted price.

Did you have the updated banding / clamp in the pipe ? We send this info out last summer, it is on our website as well.

If anyone has any ?'s about our products please let me Jeremy know. 651-982-6020

Jeremy, thanks for responding here, I'm the one that shot you the link.

That band is a perfect example of what people are talking about. You designed a pipe that had an issue, you then asked US to buy something to fix the issue, or we would no longer have a warranty...

If this doesn't sound wrong to you, the I don't know what else to say, you either see why that's not the right way to deal with a customer, or you don't.

Was not on the sled when I wrecked it was already cracked apart. Don't know the guys name I talked to but had the same problem{he didn't even want to talk to me the way it sounded} He offered to sell me a new one. No offer to fix it.Discount price was $20 off. Thats not a very good deal when the reason its bad is because of the craftsmanship.

Speedwerx!!!!????

I had a SW ceramic coated y-pipe, pipe & can with 600 miles on my 09 M1000 the top of the can broke all around the neck where it connects to the can, i ordered a new mbrp can because my supplier has had a few other issues with the so they are not bring them in anymore, when i received my new can i took the pipe off to clean it noticed about a 6" crack underside just above the y-pipe location half of it was on the weld & the other half went onto the pipe where there is no weld, strange "must be very thin material" I just ended up welding it myself i will see how it holds up. As well i heard there was a recall on the cans? Thinking seriously about SLP after reading the previous posts.

All Aftermarket and companies have their issues; SLP, D&D, Speedwerx....etc

If someone is spending upwards of $800 for single pipe and fuel box, you would expect at least a little help if the thing cracks or breaks a weld. Companies need to step up their customer service, it seems like SLP and D&D are getting good feedback on warranty repairs; Simply offering a little discount on top of already high priced parts is not going to fly.

The companies that understand this will be successful, the ones that dont will definitly lose customers. Look how companies like Black Magic Racing and Bikeman Performance have ended up. Even if new Mgmt comes in the reputation is so tarnished that it kills a business.

Many sledders are on these blogs daily, and I believe the old addage holds true: If a customer is dissatisfied on a purchase he will tell 5 people who will tell 5 more people who will tell 5 more people.......it goes on and on. If I buy a great product I might only tell just a couple of guys. People like to eat up bad news on a product or company's customer service and then it travels like wildfire around here.

Bottom Line: Take Care of your Customers!

John

I bought a set of twin pipes for a Doo from SW several years ago. Biggest waste of money I ever made. Pipes made no power and the manifolds were made of aluminum. Do you know what happens over a very short time when you connect steel springs to aluminum? The springs cut through the aluminum - duh. I tried to talk to them about it on several occasions and all I got was the run around. They dropped the pipes from their catalog shortly after I bought mine, so they knew they didn't work.

Bottom line, I will never consider a SW product again.

thanks for the tip boys....ill be staying away from speedworks. its really too bad, i work in retail, and its really not that hard to provide good service. kind of actually gives you a good feeling....looks like its time for a staff meeting there jeremy
