These types of things take a grass roots effort and local towns, that need it the most are often tapped out.
If people around the country saw value in what we are doing, $10 here and there can add up fast.
If you feel compelled to help us out...it would personally mean a LOT to me.

Yeah this is my old team. This is the school where I teach.
We have had to roll up mats and put them on the stage since the dawn of time.<O</O
<O</O
At our school everyone gets two hour time slots in the gym. It takes us 30 mins to roll out mats, clean and let them dry every single time we want to practice. Then it takes 10 mins to roll away every night. It cuts actual mat time down to 80 mins. That's not enough to properly conduct a high school practice and grow a program. <O</O
<O</O
Little-Guy (youth k-8) practice has one time slot also...for 85 kids. Two mats. Two practices running concurrently in the same old small sized little gym. that is chaos and can be very unproductive at times.
<O</O
Even though we moved out and rented this room for 4 months, our two gyms at the school are still booked solid from 5:30 am to 9:00. I know this because I am the A.D. We can't really go back in there.
<O</O
Over the years kids have quit wrestling...and actually said they did in part because they are tired of rolling up mats. We can't just get on the mats whenever we want. Ease of access is a big issue.<O</O
<O</O
Can't hang anything on the walls because its the lunch room and PE gym/multi purpose room. We haven't been able to buy wrestling equipment. No place to store it and drag it out every night. No takedown dummies or throw dummies. <O</O
No exercise bikes for injured kids or those not cleared to be on the mat. They need to ride while they watch practice.
No pictures of John Smith or Dave Schultz or Cael on the wall. <O</O
<O</O
No place to hang all those hilarious things kids say over the years. No quote board. I make little quote posters and hang them in my classroom. That's it. <O</O
<O</O
Every wrestling poster in our town is hanging in my classroom. My signed Gable and Jake Herbert posters should be hanging in a damn wrestling room. The only upshot of that last part is all my 6th graders know the story behind Chris Taylor's famous toss in the 72 Olympics when he got pinned. Lol That poster hangs in my room too.<O</O
<O</O
No place to put up stats, quotes, Divisional champs, state wrestlers, State Champs. No wall of honor. This puts a lump in my throat.<O</O
<O</O
No place to call home.<O</O
<O</O
Football has a field (home). Softball has a home. Basketball has a home. Track has a home. Volleyball has a home.<O</O
<O</O
Wrestling needs a home.<O</O
<O</O
We have plans drawn for a room. We have labor and place to put it.
We have no money to build it. Its been my dream since I came here in 2000 and has never been satisfied. We are always talking about it and trying to come up with something in-house or out in our community. Nothing works out.<O</O
<O</O
This building came open last fall and I almost fell out of my chair. This is the first best chance we've ever had for our own room. It's for sale.
They let us rent it for a measly $1800 a month, which is not something a club team can sustain for very long.
No school facing budget cuts that is cutting principals and teacher positions can sell the idea to the tax payers of buying a $500K building. The school just replaced a 40 year old sewer at the sweet price of $485K.
But they could sure use it. PE can use it for tumbling and teaching wrestling. Cheerleading can use it for stunting and tumbling practice. Adult Education can use it for their fitness classes.
But if we can't keep paying rent, we lose it. Then the owners will not have a tenant and will be forced to sell. The school will miss out on the chance to buy it.<O</O
<O</O
We've got some great classes of kids coming up in late Elem and middle school. Really good.<O</O
<O</O
Jamie Muir is our new coach. I hand picked him. He needs this. We all need this.
