Day 1

First off a huge thanks to Phatty and Snengineer for such a great suggestion to start a ride out of! The mountains east of Beaver are incredible! The terrain is a boondockers paradise. The snow wasn't perfect... it was set up and had a pretty stiff layer about 8" -12" down. Just stiff enough to take away a bit of confidence in really laying it over. This area would be incredible with 2' of fresh. In fact I am going to make it a point to watch the weather and next time there is a nice southern storm time a day trip down right after for some of the best boondocking imaginable. We did spend some good time in the trees where the snow was better. The depth wasn't crazy deep. Actually not too much more than the Northern Utah Mountains.

Although as we drove into Cedar Mountain and Pinewoods Resort this afternoon we found that the snow is DEEP! This is where we are riding tomorrow.

It will be well worth it! Not too bad either if we leave the UC at 6 we could be riding by 10.:thumb:

Thanks for sharing. We were down there a month ago. I was hoping they would have picked up more snow since then, but it looks like they missed out on the last couple big storms. Have fun in Cedar Breaks!

Nice pics of the Tusher mountains east of Beaver. I wish you had not posted them though since this can only make my riding area more crowded. Seriously though alot of that area is supposed to be off limmits to snowmobilng. I have not ridden there this year but in the past there was an operation taking back country skiers out of a yert at the top of Big John Flat. Those guys would turn you in in a heart beat if you strayed into the non motorized area so be careful were you go.

Thanks so much for sharing Adam. Looks like some huge open Bonndocker fun. Keep em coming...........:face-icon-small-hap

So those were your tracks all over the place down there. You should have joined us and showed us around.

I would have loved to ride with you this week but I have to be at camp Williams all week. I may be down there on the 19th-21st though.

Awesome!!! We were trying to plan our trip down there tonight, probably the end of this month.

Utah is an AMAZING state isn't it? How often do you get to ride above tree line like that? Almost looks like alaska!

Good to see you found it mtnpull, Call me next time you head down....fun place!:face-icon-small-sho

for the most part looks like you guys were legal, BTW did you get to the bowls on the east side of the ridge...hillclimb anyone?!
