South Cariboo needs snow !!

I'm here on the 108 Mile Ranch and I'm getting pretty disappointed in the weather so far this yr.. Yesterday we had rain,...yet again this winter. Then it froze!! I know a lot are saying that it's still early and that things will improve. And they/you are probably right. But come on !!! Let's all do a snow dance for The Cariboo.

Try living down in the lower mainland where we can't even go anywhere decent without 4x4ing 20k up the mtn...it's a joke this dec. Squamish, Whistler, Pemberton is still raining....looks like a trip to Revy or Sicamous is in order!!!!

Oh I hear ya ... I just retired and moved permanently up here from the "wet coast" and know all to well what you're talking about. I've been coming here though for almost 30 yrs. and never seen it this bad. I mean we've had a few good "dumps" of snow but it seems like a week or so after,...it warms up and melts and or rains !! WTF !! ,,,drive safely if you head to Revelstoke .

just got back the mine is light on snow but spanish was pretty good no one has been to the flour mills yet waiste deep all over up there

Not tyring to Hijack, but did anyone happen to pick up a garmin 630 in the parking lot at spanish? Dec 27. Dropped it and didnt get back in time before it was picked up. Offering a reward for info. Thanks.

Well I'd got some jobs done, the sun was shining, the weather was about -2* C and the time seemed right to head out for a ride on the Walker Valley near/on the 108 Mile Ranch. So I called my Dad to see if he felt like an early afternoon ride with me, which he took me up on. So the two of us headed out and had a great day in the backwoods south of the railroad tracks [ if you know where that is ] ... what a great day ! But then any day you can get out an enjoy some time with your 87 yr. "ol' man". on your own sleds, shouldn't be missed for sure. He feels very fortunate to still be getting "out there" at his age. Other than C.O.P.D. and the natural aging process and the aches and pains that go along with that, he does pretty good. He rides a small 370 Arctic Cat like he stole it. Going across the lake, I had him at 60 mph. as I traveled beside him on my 700 Vert.Edge Polaris. What a site it was. As if it might be his last ride. When I commented on his speed across the lake, he said "it makes you feel alive". ......sure made me think how lucky I was today. ...Thanks Dad !

Anyway, not sure there is much action out there on this board,.. but I had to share.

There's a lot of snow back off the beaten track. Here'sme when I got off the sled to take a photo.

well we have some new snow finally! Suppose to stay colder for a while too.
Happy about that!! Now if I could just find the time to get out there.
Have to fix the winch on the ATV first though, so I can plow the driveway.
Have a good day everyone.

Going to be going past 108 this weekend. Riding from Kamloops to PG. Staying at Bowers Lake, La La Hache and Wells. How is the snow in your area ?

Sorry I was late seeing your post. You said "riding".....do you mean sledding from Kamloops with those stops along the way?? Nice !!
But by now you know what it's like around the 108. I've been getting out into the back country a bit for day rides. We hadn't had much till today and it only snowed for part of the morning. It is suppose to snow the rest of the week and have warmer temps. {thank God} Have a good time in "PG" Next time email me a little earlier,....maybe we can hook up somewhere. :face-icon-small-coo
