I rode today on the west side of Diamond Lake. About 70 miles of trail riding. Not to bad for a first of the season ride. Not much snow at DL . Jim

We rode the quads yesterday. About 50 miles. The 10 day shows no weather here. Maybe Al Gore is right. Merry xmas. Jim
Up at cabin (4,800 ft), 3-4 inches of snow fell last night and today. Chain controls up at Twain Harte on hwy 108, wet heavy snow on the road. Might drive up to Eagles Meadows Road tomorrow morning for a road ride back to Long Valley if the sun comes out. There should be 15-20" of fresh snow at the highway with more above Blaze Ridge. Will report back with snow conditions if I go.
Drove up hwy 108 to the Eagle Meadows intersection yesterday. There was 12-15" of new snow, but the gate on Eagle Meadows was still closed. Looking at the road conditions now, Caltrans has closed the highway 7.2 east of Strawberry at the Sno-Park for the winter. Too bad they didn't close it last Friday, with the warmer temps in the forecast this week there is a good chance that it will be all pavement by next weekend
At least you are seeing some snow. You should have riding out of Leland Meadows area. Oregon is getting some good snow but lots of rain also . Jim
