Something else you need to check on your pro

i have a11 with only 143 miles on it was the motor mounts a recall or did you have to buy them cause im going to west Yellowstone for amonth and would rather pull motor here then out west ?

thought the only difference between the blue and red locktite was the strength? red being stronger.

you don't need to pull the motor to upgrade to the 2012 motor mounts. actually it was quite easy and only take a few minutes. it is not a warranty item as my stock mounts were fine. the motor plates are a whole other issue. with only 143 miles, i seriously doubt you will have any issues. i honestly wouldn't sweat it.

Whats your opinion on the motor mount upgrade? I havent done this yet as I havent seen any issues or reason to yet. Are the stock 11 mounts that bad and something that I should be proactive on and change now?

i honestly didn't see a big difference. i was looking for lost rpms from last year so it was one thing to check off the list. the bolts are slightly larger and when i took the calipers to the old rubbers they were slightly worn but not a huge amount. can't honestly recommend it as a must do.

what i would like is ftx's motor plate. but at $730 it is a little hard to swallow. think it would hold the motor in place a heck of a lot better and has the potential to increase your case/crank life. just not willing to drop that much coin for it at the moment.

pura vida thanks for getting back i just had my sled down to where it wouldn't have been hard to pull the motor. Installed slp stage three kit with the reeds also. The only thing is the bolts will make me nervous when riding out west. My dad had an 06 900 with factory electric start and the bolts came out of the starter and locked his steering up and he wrecked it on a curve:face-icon-small-fro, so i would rather take the time and take the motor out and relocktite the bolts as to be on a hard pull and something happen then. like you said cant wait 1-2 weeks to have it fixed. what is the torque of the bolts on the base?
