Some questions about getting a Handlebar riser for my 06 RMK 900

Hi Guys im new here , Polaris owner since 2000

I need to rise the handlebar on my 2006 Polaris RMK 900 151"

I am 6.10 , and i am thinking about 4" rise ? i have been told that is the MAX i can use the stock wireing and cables for.

I have the antivibration thingy..

I've been told that the 900 sled has different brackets than any other Polaris sled?

which one to pick ?

which one will fit my sled ?

Well your RMK has the older "non-pivot" style of steering stem. This means you can either use the non-pivot blocks (the second product you show). Or you can adapt to pivot style with the first product you show, and then add pivot style risers (the third and last product you show).

If you want just a straight up rise from the stem, then the blocks are the easiest to install.
If you would like to change the angle before you add rise then adapting to pivot style will help.
Your other option is a set of riser bars from Skinz Protective Gear, they are available in several heights.

I personally have 6" of riser on my stock wiring and throttle cable, I did add an extended brake hose. This is more than most will recommend, but honestly, with a little re-routing of my wiring and throttle cable there is no problem at all. Most will say that 3 - 4" is max with stock throttle cable and wiring. I am 5'11" with long legs for my height and 6" of rise over stock got the bars where I need them for mountain riding.

How did you reroute the wires for 6"?

I just put a 4 inch on mine and I had to reroute the wires and it doesn't look like there is any more I could stretch them without extending the wires. Stock brake hose will work up to 4 inches. I'm 6'2" and 4" riser is enough for me.

4" puts it to about the stock height of and 07 dragon.

It wasn't difficult. I just clipped all zip ties attached to that harness on the bars, and below on the chassis, made sure nothing was crossing over, and routed the throttle cable right over the engine between park plug caps. After it was all installed I re-attached the harness with fresh zip ties. I should add that I have my rider select bolted tight at about 4.5, this is probably a factor.

I think that you put the wires over the engine explains the extra you got. Mine still run around the side but they do go over the top of the engine on the mag side now.

I bought the Powermadd 4" block , hope i find the slack i need for it

Just clip the zip ties so the wires can get some slack in them and then put some new ties on once you have the block in place. Make sure you cover the looms with Aluminum heat tape anywhere it lays close to the exhaust or motor.

Pretty much as said above.

The PowerMadd block style risers are the least expensive.

I like to upgrade to grade 8 bolts before installing the block for an extra measure.

You can only go about 3 -4" rise before you need to start lengthening wires which is a PITA.

I have seen many people pull on the harness to get more rise... but the harness wires are weak to start with and pulling on them often gives you electrical problems now or down the road more.

I think you better get a set of Timbersled wheels for that thing, or find someplace with a little more snow on it.:face-icon-small-win

Anyone else starting to think Zane gets a commission from Timbersled? :fish:

LOL, I wish I did. I would be very happy if they would send me a complete front suspension for my other sled. Or Holz or Zbroz, I'm not picky:face-icon-small-win

Are tou talking to me ?? What is timbersled wheels ?? Are you talking about those pics i put on the post ?? Were can i find more snow then on a top of a glacer ?

They are taken next to a active Volcano on top of Eyjafjallajökull Glacer..
The dark thing in the snow is just a fine volcanic ash..

Took a trip there last spring
