Some "Baker" assistance needed.

I am new to these parts and although I would much rather be sledding this weekend I am planning on taking the fiancé and the dogs up to Baker “somewhere” for a hike in the snow. I would greatly appreciate some help on location?

I am looking for a decent location to drive the Jeep in some snow and find a legal location to cut a Christmas tree. Not looking for anything too crazy, just an excuse to get the hell out of town, see some snow and maybe find a tree, oh and most importantly locate some snowparks along the way so we can kick off our season in the next few weeks.

We are on the Bellingham side of Baker. Thank you all in advance for any help/direction with this endeavor.:yo:

1. Take I-5 Exit 232 (Cook Road) and head east to Sedro-Woolley

2. After 4.3 miles, turn left at the light onto Hwy 20

Directions
From the Forest Ranger Office in Sedro Woolly go east 15 miles to the Baker Lake Highway turnoff after MP 84. Take this paved road (north) 12 miles to the turnoff left for the gravel Forest Road (FR) # 12. At about 3.5 miles look for the right turn for FR # 13. Drive 5 more miles or to snow level to reach the parking lot and trailheads.

Head towards the ski area go through glacier and look for a right turn on glacier ck rd. Snow line will be around 4k ft tomorrow so you can get a good ways up the rd. Look out for sledders. Then after you play in the snow for a bit and realize that there are no good x-mas trees of reasonable size go hit one of the many x-mas tree farms along the highway on your way home and get beer and pizza at the NFork.

thanks for the help

Thanks for the tips, much appreciated. White Rad, I am sure it will be tough to find a good tree, seems the only place they still exist is at the tree farms but to quote Clark W. Griswold "Its all about the experience" :face-icon-small-hap. Is there an actual snowpark on Glacier creek rd? If so is the riding up that way a good mix?

Again I really appreciate the comments, its tough relocating and having to learn good/close/safe riding areas especially with all the avalanche areas on Baker. Will definitely stop in for the beer and pizza.
