Anything wrong with this first pic? Can't believe it. STAY OFF THE HILLS!

We managed to have fun in the trees and off the slopes. Snow is set up, but in the right places, there was still plenty.

Where was that slide at?

Saw plenty up wolfcreek today, saw alot of risk takers too. We were probably some of them, I was a little freaked out in some of the spots we went to today, at least most of the hills we were below were on the aspects that the avy report showed less danger on....

I like the 2nd and 3rd pic best.:face-icon-small-hap

To many tracks in the first pic.

yea, that's my point. there were tracks all around the slides we saw.

i like the 2 and 3 better too. hope your husband is able to keep his arm. ouch!

LOL. Me to. Funny you say that cuz even the fingers are swollen now.:face-icon-small-sho

Good and high quality shots.

we came across this same avy that day...hard to describe where it was. We were following a creek bed up from the soapstone side over to silver meadow (see map).

also attached are the pics I took of it... these photos make it look like a little sluff but those slabs are 4 feet thick.

Ya the avy danger is out of control right now. I was riding up there Friday and saw a huge slide brake loose. I don't ride that direction very often so I'm not exactly sure where we were but I think the guy we were with that rides there daily said we were at the head of North Fork. The only camera I had was my IPhone so pictures aren't that great. If someone more familiar with the area recognizes the area please correct my location.

that kinda looks like an area we call "Bear Canyon" and others call it "Vader". it's hard to tell from that picture without seing surrounding views. if it's where I'm thinking, you're on Lightening Ridge looking east-ish towards the Duchesne river valley. my map doesn't have a name on that creek but it flows down and hits the Duchesne near the Hades Campground. ??

ok, so we are talking about the right place. here's a map of that spot... I dumped a sled on that slope a few years back. good thing there's a trail from the bottom you can take to get out!

Ya that seems like it is the spot, he showed us the trail up out of there. Still would be tough to get a dead sled out of it though.

We were looking out over the edge and he said it was fun when conditions were good to drop down into there. I said conditions are far from good today and all of a sudden I saw the huge cloud of snow off to the left and we all sat in silence as it ran out. Scared the heck out of all of us. Its good to watch things like that from a safe distance just as a reminder that snowmobiles 1/4 of a mile away can set something off like that.
