I don't have my notes with me but here are some rough numbers from memory

Mine started out at 517 LBS as a renegade

After all the removed and added parts I managed to drop another 25 lbs off of that weight

this brings it down to about 492

This sled currently runs a 163 inch track

A lightweight battery saved the most weight - I believe 7 to 10 lbs

removing reverse gearing and outer casing was about 6.4 lbs

belt drive 4.5 lbs

rear light/flap 3.5 lbs

lower airbox 4.0

headlights 3.5

windshield 1.0

swap XR to XP bumper 1.0

Nextech hood, xp side panels, nosecone

summit Mountian a-arms, spindles and skis

It all adds up and the weight savings was spread over about 25 replaced or removed parts most saved about 1 lb or less

This sled is nimble enough that I can spin 90 degrees partway down a steep mountian and head straight back up

The good thing about the weight is that one guy can pick the front of it up and walk around in a circle quite comfortably

My buddy who rides an e-tech with the same track hopped on it and a few mountians later told me it handled better than his sled

Thanks for the details, sounds like it's working awesome for ya!

Just for clarity for other people reading this, the Renegade trim level has a 137" track. So you added weight back by upgrading to a 163" track and longer rails/different suspension (not sure which route you went here). Not to mention the weight added by the turbo kit which may be +- a few pounds depending on what it replaces.

A lot of your other modifications basically turned the renegade into a summit so I know this is not VERY accurate but without weighing your sled I feel it is more accurate when doing a comparison from one brand to another.

1200 4-tec in Summit trim 154" track=552lbs

All of the modifications you did to your sled totaling 25lbs lost = 527lbs
This is very close to the dry weight of the 2003 ZX summit 800 151 I had a while back and the same hp N.A. but you didn't hear us b*tchin about it's weight back then! :)

4 strokes have come a long way! It's pretty cool to see not only competition in the 800 class but also competition in the 4 stroke mountain class!

If you have proof that any of my assumptions are incorrect please post it...Accuracy is better for everyone.

yeah its VE running boards and extension thing. Only like a grand and pretty much the same result and alot less work :)

Lets clear up the 1200 turbo dry weight issue

I won't have my notes for about a month and then I can post all the weight savings in detail for the doubters.

492 dry is the complete weight of my sled and it can be made lighter

I see what you are saying about removing weight but putting more back on to make it a turbo mountian sled.

This is not the case here. I weighed every part that came off the sled and every part was put on the sled.

I tried to word my first post clearly to avoid confusion but hopefully this is simpler to understand

The total, complete, overall, final savings was 25 lbs off of the stock renegade weight of 517 lbs dry

Your assumption dry weight number is off by 35 lbs

My numbers would confirm your numbers. I would have to go back through one of my build notebooks for that machine, but with a 146 I was 492 with the stock battery and a 146 x 15 x 2 track at that time.

No doubt here, not trying to prove one weight over another. I'm a 4stroke guy and don't care what chassis or brand it's in so the more the merrier! Engine rebuilds after 2k miles should never be considered "preventative maintenance" so I'm not a fan of 2 strokes. Plus I've never gotten one to last past 1600 miles...

Thanks for clarifying. What rear suspension did you go with? I'm just trying to piece it all together so that it I can learn from what you've done.
