First off, what a PAIN IN TEH @$$.
Does anyone have any pictures of what hoses and such im supposed to pull off? This is on an 06 900 rmk.
Im taking a break for now and trying to gather some info on what else i need to pull off.. Also do i have to drain the coolant tank? I guess if i do i have to find a way to drain it... hmm

Im sure ill have more questions..... lol

Yes, you will have to drain the coolant tank. There are a couple posts somewhere on how to do it. Removing the hose on the right side by the clutch and using a shop vac to suck out the antifreeze is what everyone is recommending.

Pull the seat

Pull the fuel tank

disconnect the hoses and wires.

Look here for more how to links.

Drain pan and tip the sled back and forth a few times to try and get as much as you can out, and probably a lot of rags to soak up antifreeze if you spill some.

Anybody else have a good method without a shop vac to minimize the mess?

i had to pull my motor and i didn't think it was to bad? and i didn't remove the tank either...As far as the coolant goes, i just put a big drain pan under the plastic adn drop the coolant (in a safe place) on the sled. And clean it up when im done.

Disconnect hose on right side by exhaust pipe and let drain thru holes into a bucket.

You can do it without pulling the tank, but its a PIA.
Overall, a motor pull isn't too bad...disconnect everything and pull should be less than 2 hrs

How do you disconnect the 2 plugs and the coolant hose on the back of the motor?

dude it doesnt weigh that much, you gotta take the rear bolts out from the rear motor mounts and just loosen the front ones to be able to tilt engine forward just a bit to disconnect big coolant hose and injector wires behind engine.

Interesting, I am looking at the instructions and he doesn't say. Just says drill them out in a drill press. Anybody know the best size?

i am pretty sure they are 3/8" bolts ;)

EDIT!!

WHOOPS...i was talking about the bolt for the motor..you mean the hole for the plates right? i would have to guess...3/16" hole

I believe Colin uses 1/4" bolts, just use one of the supplied bolts as a reference.

I did drill one hole in my press. But it was a hair too small. And the next size up that i have is too big..

ok, guess is probably not accurate enough. The holes in the compfusion mounts are exactly 5/16.
