So how skrewed will the New Republic of Califorado be after Tuesday?

You guys can argue with ME all you want, but the only people I'm talking to are the ones that vote in the repub. primaries. THAT right there is where we lost the elections.

Those of you that think that you're going to convince someone on here are delusional, hopefully we're all informed enough that we know why we're voting the way we do. The middle is who we need to win & that WILL NOT happen with a 2 way split on the republican side in the gov race, or a retard like buck.

My point is simply this, Boulder didn't cost us these races, WE did. If you can't see the reality in that, it'll happen again next cycle.

I agree with you - I wish Pete Coors would have run this time I think he would have won. Bob Beauprez might have beat Bennet too.

The only good thing that came out of this election is that I think (not official yet) that the republicans took back the state house of representatives. That is a big deal for redistricting.

Either way, with a mixed congress, no wilderness bill will make it's way through now.

Not true....polis fully intends to slam his version of the hidden gems wilderness bill that he introduced thru congress BEFORE the end of THIS year. the new congress will not start until after the first of the year!

also, you are crazy if you think boulder and denver are not the mass of liberals that are keeping colorado blue.

#1 be that as it may, the current election has nothing to do with it. I sure hope to hell that doesn't happen

#2 you miss the WHOLE point of what I'm saying, but thanks for playing, try again tomorrow.

IF we had given people better choices, the almost dead heat would have been a blowout. Look at the turd that is Buck... he ALMOST won! If that dipsheat can ALMOST win, someone with a brain would have DESTROYED Bennett with ease.

Can I rephrase this a few more times so you slow bastids can understand?????:fish2: :D :D

There were NO options on the GOP primary.
Why the heck do you think Tom jumped into the race?
All the GOP primary options were worse than just dumb.....they were all caught lying/cheating somewhere along the lines. I respect Tom for getting into the race, and man......considering he joined about 2 months out, with a fraction of the $$ as Looper.....he put up a damn good showing. He never had a chance unless Maes dropped out. I live about 8 miles from Maes....he better hope I don't bump into him in the grocery store. d-bag.
Buck was not a good candidate either.
Why the hell can't we find a decent representative that doesn't cling to the bible and the rest of the problems that sprout from that (abortion, etc.).

My frustration with the State GOP is at an all time high - We should have at least one of the two Senate Seats - Notice how Udall did little/no campaigning for Bennett? Udall is just as far left as Pelosi/Obama so far left he would have been a detriment to Bennet if you can believe that.

We need to get a good candidate and start grooming him/her now to prep for that race. I think Mike Coffman could maybe do it - but we need to start now.

Regardless - I think Wadhams should be thrown out as the leader of the state party, time for some new ideas and a fresh approach - we can't keep losing the major statewide races. Maybe we can borrow some of the guys/gals from our neighbors to the north. Wyoming went about 70-30 across the board for the GOP.....

PJ, Online the Paper said 8k or so registered voters here in G.C. they mentioned it was an "Unprecedented" voter turn out for G.C. in a midterm election. http://www.skyhidailynews.com/

They must have changed it after I looked online before leaving for work. IMO, 8000 for Grand County isn't that impressive. There are way more year round residents than that.

I don't get why they elected Red candidates locally, then went blue for the ones that actually matter. It baffles me.

It depends on what your priorities are. Even when you dont like the candidate If you want to have a place to ride your snowmobile in the future republicans are our only hope. they typically will not vote for these wilderness land grabs. 95% of the time liberals will vote for wilderness.

You hear the land grab..save our mountain from wilderness....mantra on here all the time. For obvious reasons, and of course I am against more wilderness designations.

But when you sit down to select a Politican to receive your vote....is that really one of the top issues? With all the other crap going on in our state/country, for me personally, where I get to play with my overpriced toys is pretty low on the list.

Quit throwing logic and perspective into this conversation, that creates confusion and makes me cling to my guns and religion.

The #1 thing I love to do in my life is snowmobiling. Without it I'd go postal on all the idiots out there. So yes, on my list it's a top issue. I figure this country is going down the crapper with everything else (and so is our $$$), so give me my sled and mountains. Once it's gone, it's gone. It would take the biggest fight ever to bring back, and I just don't see that happening.

Pretty much all of the things I love to do are not voted against by Republicans. Sledding, dirtbiking, ATVs, hunting, guns. All of these have a tie to closed lands and those lands are being closed to use or hunting. I also enjoy teaching these things to my boys so they may enjoy them in the future. Democrats will take those away. Then there is the Constitution. Dems make a mockery of it. Working. I like that. Business was always good with Republican leaders. I got lots of hours, bonuses and tax refunds. Democrat leaders, I got hours cut, bonuses went away and the Obama administration got me laid off, TWICE.

Those are the things on top of my list. Sledding isn't at the top, but my style of outdoor rec is.

well, however you want to look at the politics of cantidates...

I can tell you guys with 100% certainty that without liberals my job would go to crap.

I'm an estimator for large scale steel construction. I build schools, libraries, hospitals... (yeah, lots of those would be built of 60, 61, 101, or buck types were voted in....)

Right now the only work out there is stimulus work. This work would not be there if the right were in charge. However you want to look at the rest of the picture, I probably would not have a job right now if this were not the case. You want to blame people for a stimulus bill, you're full of SH** if you think it did nothing. It'd be nice to be farther away from reality so I don't have to see what's really going on on the edge of employment.

Therefore, it wouldn't matter if areas were open, cause I'd have to sell my sled & couldn't afford to ride!

Yeah, I get that there's more to it than that, just a small example of how there are deeper issues. That's why I vote 100% democratic, preferably for the green party... or whoever is the farthest on the whack job left:face-icon-small-win. (yeah, joking:face-icon-small-ton)

Losing you employment twice sucks, sorry this has happened to anyone.
But the truth is the US started losing jobs at an alarming rate in 2005.
And has not let up, taxes where low, deficit was rising and the experts can not figure out why. It is not dems or reb it is government. Big business runs government. Good luck we are going to need it.

You can talk about the only work being done is credited by stimulus, I don't believe it for a minute. In certain industries, sure, but not all. The BS about it, is that it definitely didn't deliver what was promised. The fact that 14 trillion puts a debt of $45,000 per person in the U.S. tells me that we got screwed on that promise.

I paid 23000 in federal income taxes last year.....and that wasn't enough for them. They want to repeal my "tax cut". I should get to claim some of the bums as dependents on my taxes.

Another thought...How will the Dems govern when they have the country dependent on them for everything and they have no way to pay for it. We are bringing up people who have no idea on how to provide for themselves.....You know what they say. Those who rob from peter to pay paul.......will alway have the support of paul.

So do you think the credit for energy efficient windows would be out there without the dems? If not, where would you be right now?

If everyone's blinders come off, they'll realize that there are good things about meeting in the middle. If the far right got full control, it'd be just as disastrous as the far left (in my opinion, far more actually). Btw, good 'ol GW was adding to the debt in one of the most prosperous times in america's history with tons of revenue rolling in... so don't think the stinking left has a monopoly on debt either.

I don't know about other industries, but in MY industry, if there were no stimulus, I WOULD NOT BE WORKING, PERIOD. So... I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one, which tells me that if my children get a school, we get safer roads to drive on (ok, that BS is pretty debatable:face-icon-small-con) and the people that are working are helping feed the economy, then the stimulus is doing SOMETHING other than just simply adding to the nat. debt as the far right wants us to believe.

Btw, in case anyone doesn't know me better than what is written here, I'm not a democrat, I HAVE occasionally voted democrat, but I'd call myself a middle leaning republican. I'm arguing simply that there needs to be a middle, NOT that we should go to the whack job, useless left anymore than the whack job extremist right.
