Snotel is showing 20" :D at French Creek. Who is going up there to lay down some tracks or at least take & post some pics?:)

Jim, why go all the way up there when we have 10" here? hahaha. I had to get the sled out last night at midnight (after the bar). Not sure the town enjoyed that. Oh, and then get the others out this morning. I forgot how loud that old polaris is. I think an old lady even flipped me off.

Did you guys get anything over there?

our first trip to the snowies will be turkey weekend thats for sure.. unless we continue to get more snow storms like we have been the past week or so.. been great..

We heard from one of the neighbors to our cabin (just to the north of ours) that there was 16" on the ground this morning.

I was watching The Weather Channel a while ago and they were reporting 21" at French Creek (they are going off of Snotel I would guess)

The lady at the Forest office in Laramie said they were cutting trees and hauling them down the snowmobile trail at Albany until Dec 15th. I wont ride out of Albany until those trucks are long gone

They pulled that same crap 3-4 years ago. After they got a ton of complaints they said they wouldn't do it again. Must be the new management, or they have short memories.

Yesterday morn it was 2.5" on the truck, so I'll say 3" before settling. Not near enough to get the sled out. 95% melted away yesterday so only snow left is in shaded spots.

As of this morning WYDOT is showing the road over the top (Hwy 130) will be closed for the season. This could turn into a real early season. Let it snow!

Wow really!! That is early and definitely something I don't want to hear as a hunter and do want to hear as a snowmobiler. I am torn. I usually don't think about sledding until elk season is over.

EDIT: WYDOT Website indeed 130 closed for the season!!

This is awesome. I am excited about a Turkey Day ride, could be able to ride off trail.

Should I be making a Thanksgiving weekend reservation now?

I've made the trip out over tukey day weekend many times. some years are better then others but most of the time there is no problem riding off trail but you still need to be carefull. One year there was 6 feet of fresh by saturday!!! It was the deepest powder I have ever been in out there.

No need to make reservations, there is very few people out that early. No problem finding a place to stay. Eric
