Figure around 9,800 -10,500 for general riding elevation.
If you want to go to a restaurant for lunch, you should plan on taking U trail to the far west side and there are a few places to choose from. Get fuel while you are there.
On the way there, you will go by Lake Marie where there is an outhouse and a few hillclimbs on the SW end of the big avvy shaded area on map.
Area from U trail, up N trail to X trail are good. Lots of meadows and climbing thru trees if you want.
You could also ride south to Albany, have lunch, etc. There are a lot of big meadows around Nelson Park. Get fuel there.
Watch snow forecast. If chance of snow keep location of trail close.
If it is snowing/blowing (more than 30mph?) do not try to take NO trail to O as it is not marked so well and goes across open windblown, thin snow areas with a lot of little frozen lakes. It's like being on another planet when the weather is bad. Heck, even when the weather is good, lol.
U trail gets bad in such weather but is well marked and is one of the main trails but there are a few miles where it goes over the top by Libby Flats that can get nasty.
T trail just as you turn off U and start to go across Libby Flats can get bad too when the wind is blowing, esp if it is snowing.
