Snowy Mountain Lodge

Facts on the SML as of today- it changes on a daily basis!

All parties involved in the operation of the Lodge are currently in negotiations to come to a resolutionas to who/what/when. They are hoping to have all the necessary details resolved ASAP. Due to the ongoing negotiations, the information that can be shared is very limited.
The Lodge is currently not open but the intention is to be open this winter.
For those who have reservations, again, a decision should be made in the next week. In regards to future reservations, it is best to not take any until the negotiotions are complete.
Snowy Range Tours/Kody Malmborg are not affected by the Lodge situation at all. They are gearing up for another great season.
I wish I could share more or even had been able to do so earlier, but I have been mandated by the powers that be.
I am only the messanger, Connie

I really hope someone reads what has been said on this forum and makes a few changes. Just a thought.

A little advice! Change the person who was in charge of it. That lady was a real B**ch!! I will not go back until she is GONE!!!

Ouch!! I think WYOGAL88 may be the person you are talking about. The name from the original post above seems familier, or maybe she has just been the person trying to make the place go for the others who gave up.

Yeah, hopefully they will make some changes with constructive feedback & suggestions. I sent Dave (believe that is his name, owner?) some feedback last year when they were getting killed on this forum and he shrugged them off as lies. Perhaps he is part of the problem.

Good & efficient food service, competitive priced gas and a smile would be a great start to turning this place around IMO. I've never stayed in the cabins so I have no feedback there.....

Thanks for the update Connie!

For the record I have always found Connie to be pleasant and she always remembered us everytime we stopped by. If they are able to get things sorted out I will not hesitate to frequent SML again this winter.

I second that!

Thanks Connie, hope everything works out for everyone.

I second this. 50% customer approval rate is *not* good. Her attitude needs an overhaul.

Let's be gentlemen.

If you had a bad experience you should feel free to voice your opinion, but why attack someone personally? That's just rude, especially when this person is on here trying to help everyone understand what is going on up there.

Every one says how connie is a b*tch. But in the past years that we have been going to the snowy's she has done everything great for us and never was a b*tch to anyone of us.

Let me know what's up as soon as you can, I have alot of customers coming out this year and most are looking for lodging on the mountain, would like to have them stay there, but if it's not going to be an option, I need to know asap, otherwise other arrangements will be made.

We had a sled break down on us right at snowy lodge last year. A lady who worked there held the door open for probably a good half hour past closing time while we used the phone to try and find a dealer with parts. Not sure what everyone elses problems have been, but we had friendly service.

Quote from Forest Service in Laramie yesterday, "If SML is negotiating with the FS they might want to contact us". Per FS; Dave did not pay his bills, he has 1 year to make it right or move his buildings. The land lease will not be offered to someone else unless Dave sells the blgs with the land lease. The state will plow to the cattle guard, last year they paid SML to plow from the cattle guard up.

Fire sale forthecoming? Not holding out a lot of hope for SML to be open this year. Too bad!

I have stayed at the SML in the past and had great lodging, expensive food, and overpriced fuel that I was happy to buy. There is a cost associated with a remote operation that some people seem to overlook. We've done the Snowies both ways, staying on the Mountain and staying down in Laramie... to me its a 50/50 situation with each having distinct advantages.

I for one hope they find a way to keep it open and wish them luck in working out their current situation for my own convenience. If you don't like the way they run their place, don't stop, vote with your dollars. No need to kick 'em when they are down.

Thats exactly what I heard good to know for sure, thanks

Sml

Last Sunday we were at the SML entrance.. They had red cones across there driveway.. Wanted to go there for lunch.. I assumed they were either closed or didn't want anybody in their driveway. Either way,,, we didn't feel like driving over their cones.
A buddy of mine had a reservation for one night at the lodge... Mother died. He ask them if they would help out with canceling the reservation.. Not only did they bill him for the one night stay,,,, They charged him extra for not showing up... Cancelation charge + room charge.. What?
