To be honest with all the amazing riding close to that same area.....Why? Its in the flats and doesn't get much snow, prob has a 2 foot base most years. With in a half an hour north and east of there you have epic riding. North is Island Park and Kilgore and to the east you have the Big Holes. Just a recommondation if your going to ride in that area you may well hit the good stuff,
i normally ride cascade/mccall, trinities. i just thought if it got enough snow it would be kinda fun, as there are no trees to hit and lots of hills to climb and catch some air
I see, thing that gets bad out there from what I have seen is you get the wind blowing and it will blow the snow off of parts of the sand and leave it on others too. So you end up with a goofy conditions. You can find similar hits and terrain in IP and the big holes. IMO if your going to come all that way you might as well hit up the good stuff instead of messing around at the dunes.
Just like bubba said, there always seems to be some sand showing and it makes for some weird conditions. Plus if you dig a trench then you are probably going to be hitting sand. The idea behind it is cool, but you can find places that are just as wide open with rolling hills and little cornice jumps right down the street.
