As an FS employee, if there is something I can do to help you guys out just let me know. I'm on the Colville NF, and I have pretty good ties with the folks on the Methow Valley RD.
I am not surprised that a FS employee is offering to help. I can say that everyone I have ever talked to that is a FS employee has had a similar attitude of wanting to help. I will ask that you talk to your District Ranger and see what they have to say. If they are receptive to making an exception to the policy and wish to help save lives by allowing snowmobile specific avalanche courses, please put me in contact with them directly and I will try to make it happen sooner than later.
