Can I use my 2 stroke snowmobile oil in my ouboard motor for the fishing boat? I wouldn't think it would be a problem, I have some left over before the sleds all had power valves and what not.

Outboard oil is ashless and is formulated to work in engines that have to run at low speeds for long periods of time(trolling). Use it if you want, you will probably never know the difference. Me, I use the specified oil for the product I'm using.
i use citgo sea and snow year round, kids wheeler, boat, sleds
Blue Marble, Pink nipples, come on. It doesn't matter. Can I use Weed trimmer oil in my chain saw? Oh boy!

What oil you use will later affect performance by means of carbon build up.
Extended use can lead to issues from fouled spark plugs to damaged internal components from too much compression. Might even cause pre-detonation.
If you have ever removed the exhaust plate on a 2-stroke marine engine that has run the wrong oil for prolonged periods of time, you will see what I am talking about. Kind of like riding your sled with a plugged muffler.
I think weed eaters and chainsaws will even run off marvel mystery oil and survive

OK you got me their. But the piston was out of a John Deere 6 cyl. Diesel. Injector issues.

As a mater of fact...
Some engine/fuel combos we run where alky is illegal, I will mix tolene in fuel to slow down the burn and raise octane. Tolene is dry so I add 2 stroke oil for extra top end lube.
Now if I could only fix my diesel.... I don't like diesels

i used cat 50:1 in my boat. smoked a little more then normal but i was fogging the bugs

Years ago we would add marvel mistery oil to the meth. For a lube and if you got on fire you could see a flame. Thats been 20 years ago.
