Any one using one of these jacks. Yes I get stuck, sometime real stuck. I would like a little input on the Snowbuddy which is a take apart unit. I would perfer a take down unit as I do not want to have the jack hanging off my sled. My back is getting old and weak and freinds are few and far between when I am stuck. The bastages just laugh and take pictures.
Looking at the

I have a Highlift but just keeps getting in the way when riding and moving from side to side.
Thanks Mike

I have this jack model http://www.highliftjack.com/

I would say its the best 300 dollars I've spent! I had it for about 4 years now. No issues! I have changed the mounts out a few times due to different sleds and the company always provided great customer service.

I don't even notice the rod sticking off the sled, assembling multiple parts seems like it can be a real pain in the butt with snow covered gloves. Just putting the base on my jack can be a real challenge at times.

I used it about 6 times yesterday riding in the woods in 3 foot of fluff... much easier on the back. No substitute for good riding buddies tho.

Hope that helps!

We have both the snowbuddy and the highlift jack.

The snowbuddy has been around for a long time now and we store it on top the belt guard on a '96 XLT. It lifts but not to the same height as the highlift jack.. it's not as strong as the Highlift either.

I've used the highlift to pick up a sled that was hanging almost vertical on a slope with the skis caught on a dead fall log, they held the sled in place with the log behind the spindles. I couldn't have gotten out of that with the snowbuddy.

If the highlift is in the way as you switch sides of the sled look at your mounting position and see if you can get it out of the way; I haven't really had that problem.

highjacker vs snow jack

Has anyone compared the highjacker to the snow jack? they both look to be very sturdy, but the snow jack breaks down into 2-foot lengths. I'm already convinced that the snowbuddy and powder jack are of inferior quality.

buy the highjacker and be done with it. its incredible how much this thing can lift and how well it works. when mounted it really does not get in the way of riding your sled. i have personally seen the powderjack fail while lifting. im not familiar with the other ones, but if it folds up it doesent sound very tuff. Seriously, is the 2 or 3 extra pounds for the highjacker really going to matter when you have 50 pounds of snow stuck all over the sled?

All I know is that the video for the SnowBuddy is just awesome. All those early 90's Yamaha Phazers = sweet.

I am the official Snowest product tester known for pushing everything past it's breaking point. I have not been able to break Bill Harmon's jack. This is a very well built and useable jack. I use it almost everytime I ride and can't speak highly enough about it.
