As a Snowkiter and Sledneck,
I just wanted all to know it's gonna be pretty crowded at the top of Farview this weekend.
Hundreds of snowkiters from all over the world will be converging at the Big Drifts parking areas.

http://snowkitemasters.com/

I'll be posting on the local snowkite forum the big sled weekend, to try to keep the kiters away that weekend, When is that anyway?

I use my sled to get me to the high country to snowkite alot.
Top of Lake Creek, top of Monte, Curtis Creek area, plus others.
Stop and wave hi if you see us...
I 'd answer any questions here if you have any.
#1 issue is...
Be aware of kitelines on the ground when kiters and kites are on the ground.
Bad news for all involved.

Good Call! It is important to respect other users. Save the rodeo show for shootout weekend, if you havn't seen what these guys can do with these kites I suggest you take the family and make a day of it...It is awesome to see the skill these snow kiters have. Fairview in the spring time...no better place to be:cool:

I rode down there last year over this weekend. Unfortunately, you have to cross the road near the parking lots, so the kiters just need to keep that portion clear and not have their strings laying out. It is definately a cluster **** near the parking lots, people and **** everywhere!!

Let me tell ya,
The event was off the chart.
The sledders I met were very gracious about the event and made great effort to stay away from the main event area.
THANKS...

Even with no wind on Sat. (that helps the vendors sell stuff)
I was towing people wth my sled, all over the area to ski/board
off the cornices into pretty good snow.
What little wind there was on saturday, just got some kiters out
far enough that when the wind died, I towed lots of them back.

As for photos, and video, there were lots of pro photogs there.
As soon as some of the pix get posted online, I'll share..
here is a few pix on this forum

Thanks guys,,

P.S. I ran over someones kitelines. Dam companies that use white lines on thier kites. (most are colored) Even scanning the ground like a hawk, I still got on them.
New this year carbides ruined $100 set of lines,,,,SUX

Hey Sailut-- are you the Sailer I always see at the drift with the Blue Healer. If ya are, your dog likes my ribeye leftovers, he wanted to come home with me a few weeks ago.

Sorry the Wind wasnt with ya over the weekend. But i guess that's better than a white-out! Peace Out-

Johnny,
It is not me. I drive a silver toyota mini van towing a black/yellow 04 SKidoo Summit. (stop and say hi)
Isn't there 2 of those dogs usually? That would be Chris Nestor, he lives in Fairview and is up there alot.
Here is a video he shot a couple of years ago.

I live up north, with my sled, I don't need to drive that far, and only go there about twice a month, to kite/or sled with friends.

Speaking of videos, have you seen this sled video, make me drool....
