Snowies....Who all bought there parking pass?

Are these passes "unlimited" or are there only a certain number they're going to sell?

The reason being is I'm planning on being up there next week for a few days but if it's gonna be a bunch of shenanigans at Green Rock I'll just go over to the Saratoga side and ride outta Ryan Park or something ....

I believe they are unlimited because they allow parking in any area or any time. But let me check as I really haven't seen one. I park in my driveway.

I have bought the parking pass. I generally park in GreenRock. I'll give $30 to keep playin. I am also wondering about overnight parking, I just bought a toy hauler and want to pull up to GreenRock or Albany and camp and ride so I do not have to drive home every night. Any idea if you can still do this!!!

They are doing it now, the closure order for camping has not been signed. As long as everything is self contained and trash is not dumped, it should continue for a while. The Albany lot is a parking lot and not a campground. So I would imagine that as long as it is not impacted due to trash, campfires, etc. it may not be a problem. However some major rigs have the 40' RV with the 40' trailer and park 6-8 machines with generators behind it, taking up additional space. Many now are wanting to leave there trailers up there for the week and return for fun the following weekend. I would hope that in the future that any unattached trailers will be ticketed as it removes the opportunity for others to use the lot as they are entitled to.

I paid up the $30, no big deal. I really do not care what they do with the cash as long as it does not go against us and help to close $hit down. I worry about the forest cirus alot when it comes to $hit like this. I think most of them are peace love dope hippies. As for dumping your trailer for a week that is lame they should be ticketed, they also ought to ticket people that can not park worth a (rap, that would be a great way to generate cash flow.

I believe that they are currently planning on building a new parking area just beyond Snowy Mountain Lodge. Per the FS, they are required to use 85% of the monies collected at the place where it is collected. IMO, they are trying to come up with a financial plan whereas they can collect fees to help pay for expansion. The sport is growing at a fast pace and existing facilities are at capacity already. The Forest is a multiuse area and they are covering all bases, ATV, snowmobiles, bicycles, cross country skiing, etc. But federal requlations dictate a slow movement towards anything getting done. I'm loving the good response from the sledders regarding fees, its to your benefit.

The FS must think this is gonna help solve there continuous over spending problems every year.
Man, you are a moron.

I have seen this system simply work first hand in Utah. They charged parking usage for quite a few years (long as I can remember) up at Bear River station, then around 5 years ago now they almost tripled the parking area using that money. It might take 10 years or so to get it done, but it does happen :) And with the usage the snowies get (easily 10 times that the Uintahs see at their peak) I would bet it will happen a good bit faster there then it did in Utah.

edit:

Used to ride with a group of guys that hated paying the parking and the registration fees for their sleds, all they did was make things take longer to happen because the money we (the people that followed the rules) put in was being used on enforcement. I would rather pay the fee then see idiots like yourself cause parking areas to be shut down because they don't want to spend $30.

I have never been upset at paying fees to play. Think of the amount of money we spend on the toys, trailer and truck to get up there, $30 for parking and $26 for a pass is nothing. I also agree that people should not leave trailers un-attached if you towed them there tow them home.

.....And it has already been mentioned that people who stay at Albany Lodge or rent/own one of the houses right there need to park somewhere. ... .

Prior to the Forest Service implementing this parking fee, as a tax payer I was paying for a Forest Service parking lot -so that a private lodge on private land can send their guests to park ??

That sure seems as if I'm subsidising the lodges business, its not the publics issue -that virtually every square foot of the lodges property has a building on it.

Or the local home owners on private land why should I pay for their parking- and why cant they park on their own property?? Are they trying to live in an area that does not have year round access?? Again not my issue as a tax payer

It is nice to have a cabin on the forest and yes you may pay a lease or own the land- but you have to realize it is your responsibilty on where you park and not the publics.

Edit

And I do have a cabin on a forest- so I understand it is my responsibilty and if I cant get there in the winter..oh well -I knew that when I bought it and am not trying to fleece the public
