Looking to head to west for the first time. We decided on the Snowies because its only 15 hours from Madison. Having never been there we are looking for any advice we can get.

Recommendations on places to stay?

Guides? Most if not all of us will have our own sleds.

How is it out there in March? Would Feb be better?

Thanks!

Mike

you could stay at old corral hotel in Centennial, WY, only like 5 miles from snowies. There is a lodge with fuel there but closed till someone have to buy that place. You will have to take fuel in Centennial.

I have always go there in March for 4 straight years. The snow was okay but find good powder in the woods where the wind cant blow through the woods.

March is a good time for the Snowy's, actually any time from mid-dec 'till late April you're going to have good riding.
There are several places to stay---in Centennial itself you have the Old Corral, Mtn View Hotel(bed and breakfast)Friendly Store(a bit dated, but good hosts).
Winter Creek Condos is about a mile up the hill from town and up top where you unload is Mtn Meadow Cabins(you might get Chris the owner to show you around).
If you opt for Albany, you have Albany Lodge. You can ride from there but sometimes can be a bit of a trail ride to the climbing spots.

No. I sold that a few years ago. I will be taking my Nytro XTX out there. I am going to run a 2" track and regear. :thumb:

just seen your name and I thought I would ask. That was my old warrior and it has been to the Snowies one time before :) That xtx with a 2" should work ok out there. If the snow is good keep it pinned and hope for the best. Eric

Awesome! Sled treated me very good. Sold it to another guy when I switched jobs. He sent me an email a few months later telling me its the best sled hes ever owned.

I think I remember the guys at Port saying it had been out west some. What did you trade it in on?

I took it out there one time late in the year. I had already sold my mountain sled for the year and wanted to make one more trip. I traded the warroir in on a 06 Apex Mtx. I'm 6 hours from Port and my buddies and I have bought several new sleds from them. Good guys! Eric
