Snowies Clutching

I liked the blk/pur spring, but I'm also geared 19:42. Just FYI, I do have a delrin washer in my setup.

I Also tryed that spring...

I felt the sled trench more, and Harsher shifts

my .o2

Run stock secondary

When looking at Polaris charts for different elevations you see that the team Driven black/purple spring is good from 10,000-12,000ft but from 8,000-10,000ft they recommend the stock black spring. I bet the reason your sled felt harsh with the black/purple spring was due to the snowies ranging from 9500-10,500 elevation. I wonder if you were riding at 11,500-12,000ft range it would feel smoother.

I stayed at Mountain Meadow Cabins which I believe is just above 10000, and we rode to 12000. I don't think we ever went below 10k.

This maybe .. i tryed the spring.. from albany up the trail.. to Q and T.. out in the meadow and back.. I already knew by then i didn't like the setup.. so went back and changed it out..

FYI i think albany is at 9500 ft..

it would hurt to run it one day and try it out for your self ... some people like different setup then others... IDK.. what works Best.. But i know what WORKED BEST for ME!

My .02

bring the spring for sure.. takes 20 mins to swap out!

can anyone tell me what 'stock' is for 5-7k feet? my manual has no setup info for clutching... i feel like i'm slightly low on RPM in most my riding. i've seen 8300 flash once, but most the times i'm seeing ~8-81.

also, where can i get the delrin's. i used to have / use them in the team i had on my Rev, but don't remember where I got them... :P

how/where are you installing the 3?

thanks!

rotax..
5-7 is 62 weights. and stock

I am only using one Derlin Washer Below the spring... One in only needed..

You can get the derlin washers from me!!
Or

Any Part Unlimited Dealer / WPS.. Team Clutches..

I think 8000 to 8100 is perfect! and some times hitting 8300 is just fine..

some think u need to be at 8300 at a long pull..

do you have to use a torch to take the 4 bolts off from the helix to the sheeve? Are you supposed to loctite them when reinstalling? I know the video above doesnt show either of these steps but just curious.

I've run 60's in the snowies with stock black secondary spring, non-ethanol, and it was excellent, pulling 8200 at 10k plus. I think the 58's on my sled would be too light, the sled likes more weight tossed at it, have never hit rev limiter. If I remember right, Albany is at 9350, or there abouts. Up on T, you're at 10.5-11.

I don't use loctite, a ratchet/torx usually will loosen them, sometimes you need a impact screwdriver.
The best 10000' set-up for me 58/40 with blk/prp- slp blue/pink 68 MTX's that weigh 67.5 no rivets. Over revs down low, but pulls 8000-8200 up high. I have some derlins never taken the time to install. Thought they were about like the shift/assist for the cat, I couldn't tell much diff.

update::

3 days in the snowies 3/19/3/21. I ran 58s with black driven team spring on my 163. Snow was setup due to warm temps... I was hitting 8200 range on the 19th and 20th but on the 21st I was only able to hit 7900RPMs while climbing and in what was left of the powder. It was about 35F on 3/21. Anyone else unable to hit 8250RPMs in the snowies while running 10-58s?

loosing rpm's

I Have been runnig stock most of the year at 6 to 8k feet. But just went up to 8 to 10k on decent snow day. So i put 10-60's in. Pulled ok till i started to get higher on the pull and then i would some times drop to 76 or even 7500 a few times. Is any one else seeing this. If so what are you changing. Have been running stock set up springs and weights. i thought the 60's would be the trick.

according to polaris chart they call for 58s for 10k...and that is dependent on snowconditions....58s werent getting me there at 10k with heavy wet setup snow
