Snowies Clutching

I ran all stock set-up w/155.
Some guys are going to 60g in the front. I only had 100 miles on, was only off 100-150 rpm. I think after few more rides it will pull 62g.

One week ago 2 pro's both 155's both had 62g's. One with elec start but more miles running 8000-8100 on long climb, other 7950-8050 same climb.
Stock set-up in both (62gs stock springs and helix)

I switched out to 58's at 9500 feet and getting 40 - 42 for track speed at 8100 rpm. 60's only pulling 7850. this was 3' deep powder.

I assume this was in the snowies.

Pri 10-60 and stock spring sec Blk/silver 160/280 spring stock helix
this set up is works good 81-8200 on low miles sled. a few more miles when it frees up some more i'm trying 62s

this is a dealer setup for the snowies

That is what some Pro riders told us up on the hill. That 60g on 163's and sleds that had under 300 miles. They thought all would pull 62g after 300 miles, but I think a more spring in the rear on the 163's (maybe they have more stock I don't know?)
Yes this was in the Snowies.

Play around with them...mine and a couple others are pulling 68's anywhere from 8-12000 feet and 8100+ rpms...like others have said they like more weight when they have more hours on the engine. Different springs in both drive/driven and different helix.

Wow 58's 60's 62's and 68's that's quite a range of difference for the same sled on the same mountain! I have 100 miles on mine and headed out there next week. We ride from greenrock on up and I'm planning on running 58's do you any of you think that will be a problem?

I think 58,60,62, will all work, my sled was fine (ran right with xp's and m8's with 62 and less than 100 miles. 60's would have been perfect, my sled 58's would be light IMO. But it would be fine IMO.

I'm running stock 62's and in the lionshead area at yellowstone they were just a bit heavy. Rpm's would fall off at the end of a tough climb. Would have liked to have some 60's along.

what elevation is lionshead, and what RPM were you hitting?

Run 10-60's, Stock primary, secondary running stock spring,3 delrin washers, and .060 shim under clip,
runs 8200-8350 rpms. sled pulls hard, holds rpms on climbs.max mph showed 91mph on my guage. :face-icon-small-sho
running 9000-12000 ft colorado pow.

love the sled so far, still waiting on more clutching to try.but this set up will work good for snowies.
have fun :face-icon-small-win

Do you ride a 155 or 163? So you are using the black secondary spring?
