Snowest Magazine... Love the forum, but the Mag is a joke.

I subscribed to Snowest mag this year for the longest option they had. Opps. Is there a better mag out there that has the balls to call it like it is?

Case in point:

I own a new Phazer. I flat love it. However, by reading the latest edition, one would never know, the rear stock is far to soft, (I'm 165) the running boards hold and attract more snow than any sled I've ever ridden, let alone owned, and reverse doesn't want to engage often without persuasion. All these things can be pointed out, with a positive vibe, so as to keep your advertisers happy, while not treating your readers like dolts!

Snowest Mag. For crying out loud, your better than that! Or are my two copies a reflection of what can be expected in the years to come?

Should I cancel the sub, and use the savings to buy some duct tape, which I could really use?

Thanks for validating my point!

They care more about you as a manufacturer/distributor/dealer/advertiser then they do about calling it like it is with the reader.....

Granted my copy of what you posted has yet to arrive, and maybe, just maybe, that have the guts to print an article about the 08's that wasn't proofed and approved by each manufacturer prior to going to print.

That's at least how this paying subscriber feels.....

I'll take the forum any day.

I quit getting the magazine a few years ago. I like the forum but the magazine was sub par, it started to get better but figured I got all the info I needed elsewhere.

As for sleds, they do say some of it like it is, other times they don't. It's just standard procedure with all media outlets. Try to please the masses without offending anyone.

Get the real scoup here on the forum.

I've been a subscriber for years. Its not my perfect rag either, I hate the top trails issues. But it is a lot more good than crappy. What would you boobs do if the 4-M was a pay site or free to subscribers? Elud I do see you point I dont think they've met a sled they didnt like.

Wth????????

You guys mean you actually get your mag? I get one every now and then. Complained last year (thanks Sldgy) Talked to Mrs. Black, nice lady, and they sent the issues I hadn't gotten...... then this year when I re did my sub, I added Sledheads. To date this year I've gotten 2 SW and 1 SH.

I give up.

IMO SnowTech has got good tech advice. It has a fair amount of trail sled info but does cover mountain segment & has good tech tips and insider info for all types.

I can't complain about SnoWest since I still get it even though my subscription ran out a while ago. Bagger I must be getting your copies. Sorry dude.

It's a good for one or two trips to the toity.

I think Snowest is doing a good job with their magazine, and are very successful at it. The reason this site is more informative than the magazine is because the Forum users put thousands of miles on a particular machine for 6 months a year, while the Snowest testers may only put 20-100 miles on a test sled for 1,2, or 3 days. All things considered Snowest does an awesome job. Why don't you compainers start your own magazine and do it your way?

exactly...5 years ago i got a 3 year sub as a gift. since then i still only get 2 or 3 issues a season.

the forums are to be taken with a grain of salt but there is some usefull information out there and for that i am greatful. i try as much as i can to support the advertisers that use snowest as a media to get product info out to the public, but i will never spend a dime for their rag

Kort Duce is a phenominal photographer though. I'd LOVE to have his job. Killer job.
He probably has a heavy backpack though.

His brother was a great field goal kicker in college.

....this set of tits would LOVE to see this site become a pay site. It would keep a ton of ALTER EGO'S off the forums, and would get reduce the amount of high school kids that rant about everything.

I think I would pay a fee for this site and still not be a subscriber. It sure would limit the amount of information here but it also would eliminate a lot of the rift raft as well.

I get SnowTech and Snowest. Like'em both. IF you want a rag to wipe your azz with subscribe to American Snowmobiler or Snow Goer.

The days of print are slipping away anyways. I only believe what I read on the internet. :)
