My dog passed away.....love ya buddy!!!

1- He was raised around two cats until 6 months old, so he had a few characteristics of what cats act like (be it good or bad). He would sleep in a ball and loved to cuddle. He always pawed at the grass after he took his business. He sniffed everyone like a cat would. And people thought he was the perfect cat in a dogs body. Understand everyone who knew his wanted to take him home because he was so sweet and reflected nothing of a stereotypical pitbull was.

I had a pit bull that was the same way!! In fact, she would let the cats sleep with her in her dog house and would even lick herself just like a cat!!

Animals are tough, cause you always know the end is coming. Sounds like you gave him a great life!! And he got to spend time with the new baby... :)

Sorry for the loss.......

Sorry for your loss Hatchers:( Losing pets has been harder for me than family members because they are like kids, they rely on us for everything. Here's a little list that most have probably seen but is always good...copied from Fabster

1. My life is likely to last 10-15 years. Any separation from you will be painful for me. Remember that BEFORE you get me.
2. Give me time to understand what you want from me.
3. Place your trust in me, it is crucial to my well being.
4. Don't be angry with me for long, and don't lock me up as punishment. You have your work, entertainment and friends. I have only YOU.
5. Talk to me sometimes. Even if I don't understand your words, I understand your voice.
6. Be aware that however you treat me, I'll never forget.
7. Please don't hit me. I can't hit back, but I can bite and scratch and I really don't want to do that.
8. Before you scold me for being uncooperative, obstinate, or lazy, ask yourself if something might be bothering me. Perhaps I'm not getting the right foods or I've been out in the sun too long or my heart is getting old and weak!
9. Take care of me when I get old. You will get old too.
10. Go with me on difficult journeys. NEVER say, "I can't bear to watch, or let it happen in my absence." Everything is easier for me if your are there. And always remember, I LOVE YOU!

Kobe's in some pretty good company!

Sorry for the loss Hatchers... I'm sure Kobe has gone to a place where lots of good ones have gone before him. I've got family there too. He's in good company. They'll take care of each other.

d

sorry to hear about this. i know it can be really tough. I lost mine two days after new years this year. Very sad we had to put him down he wasn't able to walk anymore doc thinks he could've had a seizure. ive never cried so much in my life. it was a hard couple of weeks. but you'll soon recover from it. i still miss him but will always have a place for him even our new golden retriever won't ever replace him but hes a good pup as well. again sorry about the loss. RIP

Ray your a good egg! I'll let the cat issue slide your love of your dog makes up for it.

Wait till your boy is a couple years older! The pain and joy you will fell for that rug rat will far and away temper what you feel for your pup, at least it did to me. Your kids (think about this) are made out of you. Im adopted so in my case my dad just had to "mod" me mostly he used a belt but I digress.
Im not making light of your loss my friend I have wept over the loss of a dog. But to me its a whole different ball game when it comes to our kids. I cant tell ya how many elk hunt snowmobiling trips etc. have been ruined by my homesickness for my kids....Bottom line bro you need some therapy Im there for ya! I'll go steal Kims new goat;) Hang in there bro.

Very sorry to hear about your loss Hatchers.

I just got a boxer pup in June, and it's hard to think that in time I see him pass away.

Dogs are family here with us as well!!!!!!!!!

Ray,
So sad to hear about Kobe. Last time we talked about him, he was doing good?
My condolences to you and the family.
I know what it feels like to lose a "kid" or family member. After 4 dogs over the years, I don't think I can go through that heartbreak again. The best we can do after a loss is to cherish the memories and good times.

Really sorry for your loss of your dog Kobe. As a family that owns pets and has no children we really understand and feel your loss. Our dogs and us will be praying for you and your family

Well said Fab and Hundo.

I hope for the best for you. That is a hard one. I always love to see a guy willing to show their soft side once in a while. Truth is, we all love and care very much about our friends, family and our pets. It is important for us to be willing to share those feelings with others. Thanks for the post. Sounds like a great dog and a great friend.

Found memmories of mans best friend

Yeah, Feelin for you bud. Brings back way too many weird feelings as well here. I had to put my black lab down before we drove across country to move out here to UT. She was full of arthritis and those fatty nodules and was just miserable. In the end, I think she was happy it was over and didn't need to suffer. It was sad, she still had the drive but her body didn't and I couldn't do that to a family member! It was weird, I wouldn't leave her at the vet though. I insisted on taking her home and burrying her in my backyard the minute I got home. Way to vivid for me. Feelin for you bud.
Give me a call if you want. Talk to you soon.
Peace
