Snowest Legit Buyer/Seller list

Rating system

I think it would be a great idea. I have bought some stuff and even a sled on here and had great luck but do get a little nervous sometimes.

I would love to see something like that since I am currently having my first bad transaction with a snowest deal. I sent 800Escape a moneyorder for a set of SLP pipes. He recieved that money order on the 1st of Feb, the day after we agreed on the deal. He pm'd me on the 6th saying that he has sent them to me via Fedex that day. They have yet to show up and he has since stopped repllying to pm's and emails. I hope that Ken Murphy of Selah Wa does eventually send those pipes to me, or returns that money order.

1.) Agreed with the benifits of a rating system for both buyers and sellers.

2.) No one has yet answered the question of how the "reputation" rating affects ANYTHING on this new forum. I've added favorable to many, and negative to a few. What good does it do?

3.) Rode with some "unknown snowesters" last weekend who posted a wanted add for new riders to the group. No safety ratings for that. I'd like to thank you for not stealing my sled, and leaving me in the back country. You guys were awesome!

Oh, and thanks for not eating me too. My wife was worries about the small stuff like that. :D

If Snowest wants to install the vbulletin mod, it's called iTrader...

Description:
iTrader for vB 3.5.x & 3.6.x has evolved from Trader Ratings for vB 3.0.x which evolved from Buy/Sell/Trade User Rating System for vB 2.x. This is a rating system for when members buy / sell / trade items from each other (presumably on a FS section of your forum). It is somewhat based on the honor system since there is no automatic way to truly tell if they did engage in a transaction. iTrader came about because it was a pain to try and maintain a single thread listing good / bad traders and so far has worked out quite well.

Features:
  • Rate another member: Positive / Negative / Neutral
  • Specify in each transaction: Buyer, Seller, or Trade
  • Leave multiple comments about the deal
  • Dates & IPs are all recorded to prevent abuse
  • Specify a thread URL to the deal
  • Advanced URL checking
  • Display ratings over time
  • Filter based on Buyer/Seller/Trade/or feedback they left for others
  • Users can edit/delete ratings left for others (time based limitation)
  • iTrader Admins can edit/delete anyone's ratings (just incase)
  • PM notification when new rating or comment is left
  • Per-usergroup permissions
  • Lots of admin controllable options
Here is a link to a forum using it. Notice the rating number below their name...

E Bay rating system

Just so you know about 4 days ago on the buisness news they were talking about Ebays system and it sounds like there going to do away with it. to many false feed backs. they were wonder and thinking that this was going to hurt ebays bottom line.

i have done bisness with a few peple on her this last year and every thing was as discribed and delivered in record time! matymac, catsass, idacatman, bigborecat, and others i cant remember and recived alot of advice on here it would be great to recognize the help that they give. troy

I have done some business with firstplaceparts.com, and heinracing I would never second guess his customer service. Always working to make sure you get a fair deal and makes sure you get it right away.

I've been selling stuff on snowest for 5 years with transactions ranging from a$5500 sled bought by somebody out of state sight unseen, to something as small as a florite.

I've got a number of things listed now, and it seems I get more people trying to loball, or get free shipping, or don't believe I actually have the product than there are interested in buying. And it isn't just somebody looking for a deal, it starts with a loball, and I reply back maybe meeting halfway, then I'll get an offer at the halfway price but they want free shipping.
It's too the point now where I'll just keep the stuff, and these people can go bug their dealers.

This would be a nice system to see.

Or maybe a revised reputation points system. Right now I have reputation left by two people; 1 positive (thanks sled-fiend) & 1 negative (no name left of course) and I have a -172 point rep rating. It doesn’t make any sense to me!

Ive never sold anything here, but I have bought ALOT od stuff from people, and you kinda HAVE to trust them, and pay in advance when you get it across the atlantic, but not ONCE have I got burned, and I hopefully never will...

I've even met some of my best friends on this site and traveled across the world to go ride with them...

thank you Snowest :beer;:D

oh, and I support the rating system..the green dots in the corner isn't good for anything....join some of the threads on here, and you got your greens filled up in a day....

i have had nothing but good dealings, bought a track, sold a track, and bought a sled, from nothing more than pictures.... the title was messed up, now 2 months after a sale, with cash in hand, hes still getting it to me as fast as he can, always nice to have good dealings

the only problem I have with an ebay style feedback system is sometimes on there, you almost feel like you can't honestly post the way you feel....... your almost held hostage....I have been told on there many times that I would receive the same rep in return regardless of wether I did anything wrong or not....

I have never sold anything on there, so all my dealings are as the purchaser.... I would think there would need to be a means for people to clear neg feedback that was left only for retaliation..... That kind of feedback is not honest and it sucks!

Yeah visa versa with you troy!!!

any person who's 3/4's across the country, who already has a chassis sittin in his garage and sends me a second check (there was a mistake made on the first one sent, no biggie) on a promise over the phone is one hell of a guy!!!!

I have been lucky as well with my dealings here, both ways!!
