Okay guys,

There out and it's early but I thought I would start a thread on some general thoughts and if you're snowckecking. And if you are pulling the trigger what's your plan ???

Nothing ground breaking for 2021 but I would LIKE to snowcheck a Khaos 155... and swap the track and rails for 163/165. 99% chance I don't snowcheck, we all know the Matryx will be coming to the mountain line for 2022.

I now have almost 1100 miles on my 19 850... its still running awesome. Upgrading to a 2021 would likely cost $6,000+... just as well wait another year.

Did anyone happen to notice that under specs, the overall length of all the Khaos models (155, 163 and 165) are listed as the same over length?

They are listed at 131"

Then looking at overall length of the "Pro RMK" (non Khaos) 165 is is listed at 134.4"

Then looking at the overall length of a "Pro RMK" (non Khaos) 155 is is listed at 131"

So.......unless it's a mistake the 163 and 165 Khaos are in sitting in a 155 tunnel.

I think they would be pushing that as a big option if so.

Well my 2019 850 is down the road, so I have to snowcheck !!! LOL

Looking seriously at the 165 Khaos with the new 2.75 track and "hopefully" the specs are correct, otherwise it will get a trim job!!

I’ll bet $1 it’s a typo for the 163/165 tracks.

165 2.75 Khaos gotta be full tunnel - with that exception it's what many asked for, or built, in an Axys. Chassis is proven, big aftermarket for products, motor is solid, and there's lots to be said about all three of those benefits when you've been a pioneer before. We'll get the skinny on the track, skid, QD2, hopefully some real, non-sponsored riders will get on them. I'm checking next year, and it's not gonna be an Alpha or Summit. This is likely the sled.

I actually have a text into a dealer that is at the show right now to have him check on the tunnel length on the Khaos 163 and 165.

I'm guessing it's some kind of misprint but........I'm really hoping its not! LOL

So question from a mountain rider, this matrix chassis, is it lighter than the axys chassis? Don't ever look at specs for the trail sleds.

People just like being negative and cynical.

I’m extremely happy with my 2020 850. I put khaos rails in 163” length with a longer front shock and limiter strap. That sled is a blast! It will do bow ties and hop overs better than my 155” pro.

With that being the case I’ll be getting the 165 khaos 3”. Stoked to have a 3.5 pitch with belt drive. And it’s geared down which saves me from doing that too. I will cut and weld the tunnel, new bumpers, a can, helium hood, durapros, heated break lever, and trs clutching. It’s going to be a deep snow weapon! Can’t wait!

I’ve ridden or owned all 3 brands. I for one am extremely pleased with what we have in the axys right now. Anything I don’t like is easy to change and bolt on to make what is out if the box perfect for me!

Well.......According to the website if you take the new Matryx Indy XC "Launch Control" 129 and compare it to an Axys XC 129 the Axys is actually lighter.

Matryx XC 129 = 465 pounds
Axys XC 129 = 454 pounds

Now that's in the shorties, so I can't imagine Polaris would release a Matryx RMK and it would be heavier then an Axys RMK......

Just heard back on the Khaos tunnel question........This is according to sources at the show right now.

Tunnels are the same, nothing shorter so it must be a misprint.

I'm not surprised but like many I had my fingers crossed.

Apparently they cited a "cooling" reason for not shortening the tunnels on the 163 and 165.

This will be a well refined sled.... behind the scenes... this sled will benefit from tweaks and changes that will not be published.... Maping, shock valving, belt and clutching tweaks, internal changes on the engine...

Doesnt look like we get the good display on the mtn sleds this year tho.
