Snowcheck 154 or 165 alpha

Ive always had 155 or 153 sleds, but im considering snowchecking a 165. Any thoughts?

I have a 165 and I am going to snow check a 154. If you have always liked 153 or 155 sleds why do you want a longer one? I assume you have rode longer ones. Depends on what you want out of it. Everyone always asks this question and it is always the same no matter which brand. 150s sleds are a more playful and nimble all around sled. The 165 is more forgiving but less nimble. They climb better and will pull off a gnarlier line, in the trees, easier.
 
I honestly havent ever ridden anything longer than a 155. And i rarely get stuck on my 155. Guess that should be a clue as it what i should get.

The longer sleds seem to ride shorter than they are but you could say the same about the 154. I have always had 150ish length sleds but went longer with boost. I rode a 154 alpha for about an hour and it is just more fun than my 165 to me. The longer sleds take some of the thrill factor out of it to me unless you add boost.
 
154” is a ball. If you want to do long pulls etc, 165”. I would dare say the 154” alpha is the most playful nimble sled on the market. It wheelies so hard that I feel like I did 1000 back rows at the gym the next day. Put it to the bar and hang on!
 
I snowchecked my 154 last week after lots of debating wether to go short or not.

Always ridden 162 or 163 and decided to go to a 154 but the new tracks and lower approach angle work awesome feels like a 162 floatation wise .

Debated on it but heard nothing but awesome things and heard they are way more fun in all conditions, even lower than usual snow .

I snowchecked a 154 as well. I am primarily riding a proclimb 162 right now and while I do like the longer track for some things, I really can't throw it around as well as the other 153s I have.
 
I know the difference between 160ish and 150ish sleds but I was actually surprised between the 154 and 165. My 165 alpha was narrowed all the way and the 154 was centered up. There is a whole new learning curve when I went from centered to narrow. The 154 seemed easier with a wider stance.
 
Terry try your 165 wide if you haven’t. Only place I feel like the Alpha is lacking is pure hill climbs, I generally wheelie out on the really steep stuff before I trench of have to turn out from slowing down. If I stiffen up the rear or use lock out machine gets trenchie. I would have a very hard time on a 154. I was hoping I could get the Alpha skid in a 175 and put that under my 165 tunnel. ��
