Snow conditions?? Need I ask? Stevens area

Had to work Saturday.... d..it!

Is the snow heavy and deep or light and deep?
Just curious on the actual snow type. Know it is deep. Has to be.
3500 feet and above? not sure if it has been cold enough for powder like conditions...

Appreciate any info.

Not that deep

I rode stevens Sunday and it wasn't all that deep. There were spots where it was a foot or two but all in all it seemed like the deeper stuff was up top. Get there early on the weekends so you get a spot to park it fills up fast.:D:beer;

you can drop your sled and park on the other side of Hwy 2 as well.. got there early saturday, found a a spot, got there late yesterday, had to park across road.. wasn't bad at all though..

there is ALOT of SNOW! right now in April.. thats all that matters :) the north facing slopes were still blower in sections both days..

So what are the boundries and areas you can ride on the backside of the ski area? Just the immidiate backside of the ski resort? Or can you go further....

Front side is off limits, anything in Mill Valley is fair game. Saw tracks out to Josephine Lake on Saturday. Not sure whats out there.

josephine is Wilderness Area.. pretty much not far off the backside it turns into wilderness..
the rangers were handing out some not so well done maps, but it was clear enough what was good and whats not.

Last year I think we ended up on the edge, not sure which edge, of the wilderness area. Really great riding and not many tracks. Couldn't tell most of the time if we were in bounds or not. No real way to mark it for boundries. Worth the trip up though.
