snoqualmie pass

Rode last night right off the freeway to test some new things out on the sled, it was sick. Nice snow, and it was just off the freeway, too. It was the exit right after the resort exits..I'm not familiar with Snoqual so I don't know where..but it was a sno-park :)

enough for some trail rides as i need to break in my new sled without breaking anything :face-icon-small-hap any help on where to ride this weekend would be great! thanks guys!

Yep right off i90 we basically rode. There's a rode that goes along it (going west) and it had enough snow for us to brap around all over it. My boyfriends actually been riding there a few times, so he kinda knew where we were. I am a Stevens local :/

The backside until the resort opens, then lake wenatchee has some nice places to ride (that's where my boy and his dad ride). plainhardware.com has the groomer reports once it snows a bunch and opens for the season. I'm figuring we'll try to find some newer places this season!

Where do you have to go to access the backside? Do you know if it's rideable now?

So maybe that was your boyfriend that I talked to, I was driving up the road to unload higher up in my truck (sled in back) and stopped to chat with 3 riders.

Snow was pretty damn good! Deep considering the date, I didn't get first tracks until I turned off the main road towards the warming hut and main bowls. Once I did it was all time road riding! lol, made for a good solo evening.

I ventured off road a few times, encountered a couple items underneath, but that was a bit lower on the road up. Snow was too deep for my poorly aimed lights, so I couldn't really see much in the higher elevations. I think being cautious is good right now, but by this weekend and in the daylight you might be able to get a little more adventuresome and get off the trail more.

Snow depth: Near the warming hut's elevation I dug down to my shoulder depth of pow, then hit a base layer that was harder and stopped digging.

So I'm trying to figure out where you guys were. Were you at Crystal? That would be the snopark right after the resort heading east. Not sure about a road that goes parallel to I90 headed West though... Mainly I'm trying to figure out where I can go on a road ride this weekend up there :-)
