went to see new rmk at sneak peak in Minneapolis area. drove 1.5hrs one way and no rmks not one. All the hype on the new rmks and not one there. :yell:

just venting, because we live in mn we get to look at a picture and read the reviews of those that had the chance to ride it out west. :face-icon-small-fro

no pro rmk

Was on a dealer bus from Northern IA-50 total-to the show Monday in MN. Of the 50 customers 46 ride RMK's. Second year for no RMK's at this show. Polaris rep told one customer all of them were out west in testing. All the hype and nothing to look at. Shame on Polaris!! Dealer took a survey at the end of the trip-sounds like nobody will be back next year on the bus!

Best item at the show was Spyder RT!!

Dissapointed as well...even the Doo rep couldn't believe they didn't have a Summit on the floor, he said we know better than this, MN is a huge market for these sleds. I'm on the fence between the Doo and Pro, but my take is the Doo is going to refresh 2012 and I don't like buying a last year production sled that is outdated the next season.

There are lots of goodies on this RMK chassis. Interesting that the oil tank is mounted to the clutch guard, but apparantly you no longer have to take the guard off to change the belt. Like the floating secondary, carbon fiber bumper, even the ported snow flap. Concerned about the smooth heat exchangers in the tunnel not catching enough snow, some guys talked about overheating issues with their Dragons....I never once had the temp light come on with my XP. Also thought the running boards were a little narrow and the hand/thumb warmer switches are a little cheap, but not a big deal. I'll most likely be checking a Pro 155.

I put plenty of trail miles on the 11' base model rmk and running with the scratchers down the highest temp I saw was 137* F. In very low snow conditions I saw 154* F with the scratchers up but when I put them down the temp dropped to around 132-135* still in low snow conditions.

I was told FargoDome on April 13th was on the western tour of snowmobiles so there should be a few Pro-RMKs to see there! I still think having just one Assault at MN show is LAME. Assault is nearly the same look as the Pro-rmk, but still no colors to compare it too! Had the same thing happen in Fargo a couple years back. :face-icon-small-fro
Talk to your dealers & company reps.:beer;

I thought the same thing. That is the only reason i go to the show is to see the mountain sleds. Even though the Assault is the RMK i would buy it would have been nice to compare it to a Pro and a Summit. Cat didn't have a mountain sled either but they also haven't changed anything so it's nothing to see. Yamaha probably had the best variety of sleds but knowone was looking at them. It was almost a ghost town in there corner.

I wonder what these manuf. think all the trailers on the intersates going west every winter are hauling?? Mostly mountain sleds I suspect! We usually are 5 out of 6 and the odd one would be a Switchback. :face-icon-small-hap

I've never had an issue with overheating on my 07 RMK. It has the smooth heat exchangers you are concerned with. It sure is nice not to have a bunch of ice/snow stuck to them like the oldschool kind.

I talked to the people running the show at the end of the nite and they agreed that they should have long tracks there. Not really crazy about the toe holds on the rmks liked the switchback toe holds a lot better. Felt like foot could slip right off the side.

The show comes to Green Bay on Wednesday, I guess we wont see the new RMK either. How Lame, in these times you would think they would at least have their new stuff at all the shows. Every sale counts.

Hey, here's a solution for all you lost souls looking for a mountain. Try moving westward. LOL

THE RMK'S WILL BE IN FARGO ( ROAD TRIP) . The SD dealers had to fight to get clasified as western dealers a few yrs ago just so we could order rmks, don't really understand suits very much.
