Here is a sneak peak at the new Timbersled Mountain-Tamer Rear suspension kit for the 2011 Pro-RMK and Assaults.

Designed to drop some weight out of the sled and keep you in control of the sled and on top of the snow... If this is like the past kits it will help to keep the boosted crowds skis on the snow and in better control.

It uses the stock front shock and swing arm and adapts to your stock rails.

More details coming after the show unless Allen wants to chime in here:face-icon-small-win

Should be a GREAT year for this sled... keeps getting better!

Yep.... FTX stuff Rocks.

That whole Rear suspension setup on Curts new project sled is complete from Timbersled... they have parterned with Z-Broz to offer different combos.

I'm sure that there will be options for the EXIT shocks as well as the upgraded Fox Float X with compresson DSC and Rebound adjustment.

Weight savings?

Really exited to see what kind of weight we can see on a modded N/A PRO!!

Mountainhorse, Do you know when Timbersled will start and finish the R+D (real world testing) on this new conversion concept and when it will be available for sale to the consumer? Thank You, Budd

I definitely think this is going to be a great viable option for the boondockers that want to shed a few extra pound and it’s definitely going to be stronger than stock for those that encounter the occasional rock or tree stump or like to huck the sled off the cliff faces with a smooth landing also has the 3 shock options and Zbroz being one of them. The same quality parts and components that are in all the other Timbersled skids will be in this unit & like always Allen will stand behind his products so it will not be sent out till it meets all of Timbersleds standards. I posted some more pics below as well that show it in some more detail.

This has been in the works for a wile now and there has been more than one engineering brain behind it that like Allen is one smart cookie that is always willing to help others out so I am glad to see pics of it should make a already great handling sled even better and for a good price as well I might add.

so if it utilizes the same the front swing arm, stock front shock and stock rails..whats all in the kit? The new rear shock and rear swing arm?

Any idea on prices yet?

New rear swing arm, rear slide assembly, rear shock, rail adapters, hardware from what I can tell...

Hopefully Allen from T-Sled can chime in here between show schedules.

This is off of the Timbersled website. Still seems pretty spendy for what you get. It is $225/lb, thats the cheap option.

Thanks guys for posting this up.

The weight loss of this kit is gust the bones of having it. The main purpose of this kit is to provide Control, Adjustability, Ride Quality and Durability.

The skid offers a wide range of adjustable coupling from 0% coupled to a max of 75% coupled.

The kit will be best suited for turbo sled that need more ski control or the guy that wants to have the best possible deep snow flotation. It will also work better for the extreme rider how jumps and pounds the bumps.

The skid has optional setting for the shock to give a lineal compression rate (will provide a supper smooth ride) or a progressive compression rate (will make the skid much more bottom out resistant). We have found that the stock skid can be bottomed at will on a ruff trail and will be a problem in the future for its durability.

These are a few things that the suspension kit will benefit you above and beyond the weight loss.

What about making this kit an option for the turbo guys with the "older" I/Q chassis?

I think it's pretty comical that people are questioning the durability and ride quality on the stock skid when the first sleds are just showing up at dealerships and it hasn't even started snowing yet.

I have noticed a trend of most of the people that are pointing out problems with this sled are the ones trying to push product. Not trying to upset anyone, just an observation.

Making something good even better, for those who need or want better than stock. :D I spent a week with Burandt and Rasmussen .Chris on his new PRO, and all of them ride Mountain Tamers. The best in the world know what out performs anything on the market. Simply the facts.

Timbersled, Has the Timbersled Mountain Tamer Pro RMK Rear Suspension Conversion Kit been installed on a PRO RMK and actually ridden by some one or not? Thank You, Budd

We plan on working on some other back arm kits for a select few sleds. It will take some time to figure out and test. There are a few things that will determine whether or not this will even work properly. The Pro just happens to have the correct front arm length and shock setup to work properly with our back arm assembly. The kits have not yet been on the snow and will be as soon as the snow is available. We know our skids and can determine whether or not they will work before riding them. We will make necessary adjustments if needed. The skid will be available for delivery after this time. We feel that the industry needs this type of suspension do to its affordability.

The statement above about the durability was mentioned and said based off of a few demo sleds that we worked on last winter that had this problem and on the production sled they did not change anything in this area.

The stock suspension is the smoothest riding factory suspension in the industry. My point above was more intended for the extreme rider.

Our system is built to better an already awesome sled. OEM Factory’s have never built a machine that the aftermarket world could not improve on.
