Happened to be taking a little break and saw a group of 5 make about a 1500 FT climb up to the north ridge line of Snake Creek Canyon. Wish I was filming, cause even if it was easy snow to climb on it looked pretty impressive from where we sat. And then things got even more impressive. The hill naturally pulled them left, but the 5th guy got pulled a little too much and while he tried to crank it back up hill about 150 FT from the top he got bucked off. And there his sled went barreling down into the aspen filled creek bottom. There was kind of an avy chute that took out the trees so it had a clear run for at least 1200 FT and then out of our site into trees. Went and checked it out on the way down and saw a ski track straight into a 6" diameter aspen, no plastic to be found, but i imagine it can't be good. Please post carnage photos, we were amazed to see that happen. Poor dude had to walk all the way down since his buddies didn't realize what happened and kept going over the ridge. Photo is the point of view we had. You can kind of see the tracks going up the gradual chute in the center of the picture.
Otherwise snow conditions were sub-par. maybe 4-6 inches on top of hardpack. Pretty much point and shoot over anything that wouldn't flip you backwards. Can't complain though, day in the hills is better than any day at work.
