Smart Warmers on 7S Mountain Sleds

All I can say, is don't let this ruin your buying experience if you are still planning to take the sled. I would love the option and did think I was getting this with my 7S, but I'm more excited about all the changes that I still get to enjoy and will live with the standard high low toggle. If you have the time to chase this, feel free, but I agree that the end result will be disappointing and may leave a sour taste with the new sled.

Well some of us made decisions based on the info provided by Polaris such as I sold my 21 Switchback already and don't have other options IMHO. I decided that wanted a factory Turbo, 7S W/ the hand warmers and wont take a lesser Ski-Doo power plant with less tech on it. Plain and simple after you had those hand warmers b4 you will have a hard time taking a step backward. I did my part and they didn't. I simply don't have other choices to cover what I need.
Need?

First world problems for sure.

I “need” a sled also because already I missed 3 epic riding days.

So I’m buying a used sled today.

No big deal, they do exist………..

I never said "need" anywhere in my post you highlighted. I don't need anything.. I simply want what I was told I'm paying for. Some people are just ok with the stock warmers and I'm not. It's kinda like ordering the cheese burger in the picture advertised at the drive through and getting a burger without the cheese as. You can eat it and take your hunger away but that burger just wasn't the same without the cheese.

Sorry I mistakenly thought the last word of your post was “need”

My bad. ?

So freaking tempted. Flights were $600 plus last weekend - I looked. Can't this weekend. Maybe next if we still have crap down here. Thanks for pics and review of Matryx. Gives me something to dream about.

This is a friends sled. Still waiting on my snowcheck. He updated the display and the warmers are there now but can’t be adjusted. Hopefully a future update could allow us to to adjust the preset high and low temperatures. I mainly want to be able to set the thumb warmer higher. I frequently have hot hands but a frozen right thumb on rides.

Seems like the smart warmers have a thermister built in with the heating coils in order to feedback to the gauge;
the regular warmers only have a hi-lo heating coil, so my guess is a simple software update in the future will not enable these.
Hopefully they will work if we change out the heating could for the new style but who knows.

I know this is a stupid thing and I will definitely be picking up the new sled if it ever shows up, but I am one of those whos hands are either too hot or too cold with the old style warmers so I was really looking forward to these.

Just add this controller and have 5 temp settings.
Thumb adjustable independently.
(Solder the hi-lo wires together and you have effectively a 2 wire grip heater)

Sell the clamp on grips separately.

Not infinite adjustment but much better than 2 options………..

From reading this fourm, Skidoo is installing last year's gauge on some of the sleds. With an open warranty claim to install this year's new gauge when they become available. Polaris should have done the same with the smart hand warmers.

Well I'm certainly glad now that I didn't go ahead and get my wife a new sled!! When my '22 gets here I won't care, I have hot hands and rarely run warmers on high but my wife is drooling over the infinite adjusters. She agreed to wait a year since her current ride is newer than mine. If she had a '22 coming without smart warmers she would be completely pissed off and 'when mama ain't happy, ain't nobody happy'.
I understand supply chain issues and honestly I would rather have the sled without smart warmers than a sled sitting at the dealer waiting on parts.

BUT - Polaris should have been out in front of this and notified every snowcheck customer that the smartwarmers weren't going to be on their sled and why. We shouldn't be finding this out via forums on the internet.

THAT IS THE REAL BOTTOM LINE - NOTHING EXCUSES POLARIS FROM NOTIFYING THEIR CUSTOMERS THAT THIS OPTION IS NOT AVAILABLE.

Agreed! I'm a big boy and deal with bad news everyday, but hiding behind the curtain like the Wizard of OZ hoping not to get exposed was Polaris's mistake here.. I'm hoping they do a free upgrade in the future or give golden tickets due to their **** show of unfulfilled promises.

Okay so I just got off a chain of calls with Polaris and eventually spoke to Jake (the customer service guy from the email). He said they are currently looking into this and he's hoping they will have a work-around to get this feature to work but no promise was made.

I then asked to speak to his superior to escalate the issue (for a rebate/refund) but he said he is the supervisor of that departement and wouldn't give me anyone else to contact. I asked if he could follow up in a couple weeks time and he agreed to. If I hear nothing back I will call again to keep the pressure on.
