smart carbs really take 6 wks for delivery

Why does the trail get your bike hot? Normally the trail your moving faster with more air flow? Mine actually gets pretty hot in deep powder when you can't get past second gear and working the hell out of the engine?

I barely use first gear. Always second and 3rd. With my Pulsed TWIRP if i can get 3rd and 4th on the pipe it will hold it unless its a big climb. On the flat deep 3rd and 4th a non issue. I can hold it WOT all day in the deep and will never see over 120F. If you are seeing temps that are high in the deep then u may be lean, likewise if you can't build temp you may be rich. There are always factors and conditions that can change temp and performance. I tried KTM stats last season and they did nothing for me so i took them out. Until i can't build temp i will run no stats. I haven't even used a carb blanket this year. I like the minimalist approach to snow biking. The more crap you put on the more convoluted it gets imo.

Up the trail its all load and weight. Full fuel and a full gerry. Airflow over the rads is not quite enough with that kinda load. Some bikes may be a little different temp wise of course.

I have a 38mm that I just pulled off to put a 40mm on, it only has a few rides and comes with the heat collar installed if anyone needs one send me a PM for more details.

Im running it on a fully modded 300 ktm. The 38 works great on it, I was just hoping the 40 would give it a little more on top. Im not selling it till monday, if i lose any of my mid hit with the 40 though its going to be for sale instead. It has more than enough power with the 38 I was just hoping to get a little more, if I was going to be using it for dirt as well, I wouldn't be doing the 40, I think its going to lose a little on bottom. I was riding with an identical bike to mine with a slightly different engine and a 40mm, he had a slight bit more top but I had a good bit more mid, i'm hoping to get a little more on top, I'm pretty sure my engine can efficiently use a little more air. There's not a drastic difference in them, either one will work fine, some are going.to work slightly better on different bikes.

I have been waiting 12+ weeks for my 38 mm billet to come in and they said it would take 4-6 weeks max back in October when I ordered it. I have been emailing with no responses and tried Facebook messaging as well.

I would call... That seems extreme?
