SLP vs D and D vs SPeedwerx

i went with slp, think by the time i added up a full speedwerx with ceramic coating its was almost a grand. the slp full set up cost me $550. don't know about d&d...

looking at dyno sheets on all of them but slp ,, they all were pretty close to the same ,, just different tq/hp curve shapes.

Pipes

Didn't realize speedwerx was that expensive.
It is probably cutting hairs at this time to notice the difference on any of the manufactured pipes. I have access to all of them fairly well priced. Just trying to decide on which one to grab.

I personally like the fit and finish of the speedwerx pipe better. The tunnel dump can is nice as well.

www.Dynotechresearch.com has a pretty good test on all three of intrest, if not a member it is worth the $20 to be a member, if anything some intresting reads! As stated above all three where in the 190-193hp range and the torque curves where similar as well yet at differing RPM ranges!

I run the D&D single setup on my 09 m1000. Only #'s that I have are rom blurbs here and there that Ive read. Y-pipe, 12 hp Pipe 8-10 hp, and can 2-3 hp. Like I said these are just #'s that I picked up from reading here and there. The sled runs good with this setup and I am happy with it. My total cost I think was around 1200 canadian after taxes and stuff. I have a fuel controller, a cpc fuel pressure regulator and koso gauges all a good mix!!

??what about running different y-pipe? any diff

I have a d and d y-pipe and SLP can. I can pick up both the slp pipe or the d and d pipe for same $$ Any thoughts on performance if I have a diff y-pipe?

Dyno#'s

I would like to see independent dyno #'s for SLP 1000's exhaust. Dynotech does not have them.Does anyone really know & want to share?:present:

I ran Jaws twins last year on 09 1000, happily sold them at Haydays. Also have ran the DD single, Y and can which out performed the twins, hands down. As for the interchangable manufacturers, I would not be certian, I can tell you that DD comes with a set of exhaust extentions for the single that "lengthen" the Y to pipe area for lower RPM torque and Hp's. Having them or not having them would probably cause an alignment issue mixing and matching yet I dont think it is by much of a difference. Claims are just that, claims, I have never ran SLP mostly because DD has never treated me wrong, and most of there stuff claims to and does work with out alot of hot air and inflation which the guys on here call "horsepower creep"!

rkt said on a stock m1000 motor the slp runs a little stronger than the SW but with porting the SW is better. I have not seen a D&D or BMP keep up with the slp yet, but it could be the tuner not the pipe. All around the slp seems to be the best bang for buck. But if ever plan to port I'd run the SW.
I am very happy with the full slp exhaust.

I have done a lot of tests with different set ups from 0-4500ft.
The SLP pipe is may be a litle stonger than Speedwerx at sea level, and SW is stonger above 2500ft.@ sea level the slp is probably the best mods for the buck.
But a Jaws twin is way stronger than both single pipe at this altitude. And is even better with porting.

I did a sea level test on a otherwise stock 07 M1000 done 15min apart.
Sw increased from 7200rpm to 7550rpm and Jaws increased to 7800 with safe fuel and pumpgas.

Also this clutch kits that convert the secondary to torsen type helix (old type) work very vell, like the RKT kit.And it will work better the higer altitude because the stock clutch have a way to hard spring in the secondary that robbs hp down to the track.

Y-pipe and RKT clutch kit will work at all altitudes and is cheap.

0-4500ft: Jaws twins,40 degree rkt clutch kit and ported. The M1000 will realy goes well...no need for turbo...lol..

10000ft: RKT sec clutch kit,Hige comp head,SW pipe and porting.
At this altitude i feel RKT vill givs you what will works best.
