SLP Stage 4?

I've rode a 2011pro 800 with that kit. My stock 13 beats it. Not worth it in my opinion. I tried pipes,y pipes, intakes ect. None of it is worth the money in my opinion. Turbo is the only worth while engine mod. I'm back on a stock sled for the 1st time in 5 years and loving every minute of it.

If a stock 13 beat an 11 with a SLP stage 4, the 11 must have only been running on one cylinder.

I rode a 12 with a SLP stage 3 and a stock 13 back to back this weekend. The 12 was noticeably stronger. Better throttle response, had a much snappier feel to it and beat the 13 by about 2 sled lengths in a drag race.

I was interested to see the comparison as I have heard many saying how strong the 13 is.

I've had the opportunity to run a 12 Pro / 163 with a SLP stage 3 and it was noticeably stronger then stock.

The one I rode must have been a real beater. Hahaha. I didn't have the same experience.

I had a Stage III kit on my 11 and it didn't impress me. In all honesty though, the motor was at the end of it's 1000 mile life span and kept fouling plugs after the install. I should have rebuilt and retried but I sold the kit to pay for the rebuild. I am sure when installed on a fresh motor, the thing must rip. I've seen 800Poodragon's sled run and it does run nicely :-)
The turbo's he was riding with ran pretty nice too though.

I guess my point is that there is an improvement...mine does pull hard but I could never get their clutching to work for me. I run my own clutching. Bigger question would be is it worth what you spend? I am not sure if I would do it again. They do run well stock, get you where you probably should not be any way and get you back out.....:D

I'd have to say that the Stage 4 gets you really close to 2/3 of the way to a turbo...so you're right. How much do you have to spend and how much do want for power.

Gone are the days you strap on a set of SLP twins to your 2002 RMK 800 and gain 27 hp. Now that would be worth the price of admission!

Rk Tech drop in kit v Slp pipe and clutching

From everyone i talk to the slp stage 4 runs well but i think there would be more bang for your buck buying the Rk Tech drop in kit.

I read a post on this forum somewhere that was written by Vohk and he said that he prefers the Rk tech drop in kit over the slp stage 4.

I wasn't going to jump in this thread, because I didn't want to get off track of what he was asking...But...I agree 100%...my 13 pro with drop in and SLP pipe setup works very very well...running SLP stage 4 mapping with some mods to the map I did and it runs very strong...Vohk and Kelsey say the pipe isn't needed, but I bought it and so I run it.

If you really want to do porting...contact HM or talk to Subman on here...much more aggressive porting and they do extra little things to help get the most out of it.

Hope this helps!

The SLP stage 3 is a very noticeable improvement to the 800 Poo. Like everything though, a lot of what you actually get is about set-up.

my slp stage 3 is ok. it is a little better than stock, but not much. if you have wanted the skidoo stock power in your pro. this kit will do that. it won't give you more than a stock skidoo, but put you even. So is there gains yes, is it worth the money. very tough question, which i am on the fence.

I ran stage 3 last year and it seemed ok.. and went to stage 4 this year. The stage 4 does pull noticably better than the stage 3 my butt dyno tells me...:face-icon-small-ton

I have a 12 163 with a stage 4 installed since it was new that now has about 1100 miles on it. I "run" real close to my buddys 11 163 boondocker turbo at minimum boost(6 to 7 pounds). This sled will most certainly significantly out ran any stock pro out there. Low end is real strong, top end a little improved. Course the only thing that can really run with a properly tuned turbo on any kind of boost is another turbo, I don't care what anybody says. A couple weeks ago sled was about even with a 13 154 Doo with a big block kit in some steep and deep stuff. Stage 4 is a big improvement based on my experience and I wouldn't hesistate to do it again. I have not had any kind of issues what-so-ever with it so far either.

I had the stage 4 on my 12 loved it, I ran a 30% race gas head on it. I toke it back to the pump gas head, I and I can't stand to ride it now. there is a big differance between the race gas and pump gas. That's for sure. Im glad its the wifes sled now. The pump gas head set up has way more over stock.

I have had a chance for the last few weeks, to run around with a 13 with the stage 4 pump gas, and there is no way a stock sled will even come close. that thing is very impresive well worth the money.

Last weekend ran up against the Rk kit, IMO it does not compare to the SLP stage 4. SLP was cleaner running, better bottom end, and top end. I do not know what the other sled had for clutching, there always is variables of course. To say the least it was not impressive on that day.

I have about 400 miles on my stage 4 and it is a big improvement over stock on the bottom and middle. I have had no issues with their clutching or mapping. I do run the stock reeds. I have had to many problems with the vforce. I ran up against a skidoo with rktechs 860 kit and it will get me on the top end. I was very impressed with the 860 kit. It ran without trouble as well. I would go with either set up if I were to do it again.

Stage 4 kit dyno'd up here at 158 hp and 102 ftlb of torque. That is an Slp pipe, porting, head, Vforce, Air box mod and fuel controller. Not SLP porting, but I'm sure they are close. Worth the money IMO.

Glassman who did your porting?
