SLP MTX Weights

I just picked up a holdover 09 D8. Sled is stock right now except will have some dual Koso egt gauges installed asap.

I ride in Colorado anywhere from 8,500-11,000 feet.

I want to get the SLP MTX adjustable weights...does anyone know which ones I would order for my elevation and sled setup?

Thanks you guys!

Ryan

I would run 62 gram mtx with two in the tip and the belly left empty with a blue pink spring in your primary and the stock black purple in your secondary with either a 64\40 .38 or a 64\38 .38 those angles are on the same helix fyi. good luck

Ryan,

I ride the same elevation. This is the setup that will get you the R's you want.. 8200-8400 all day in steep/deep.... (MTX 62 weights with no rivots at all, if you feel you need to put some rivot weight... put 2 grams in the belly & nothing in the tip.. Blue/Pink Primary Spring... 2 delrin washers, one on each side of secondary spring).

I ride in Utah in the same condition & elevation, I went from stock setup at 7850 max RPM to this clutch setup now pulling Rs & gained track speed.. I also have the SLP pipe, can, & Y as well. Chad

62s, no $hit, they sold me 68's

Ya I'm thinking about stepping it down a notch from the 68's. But want to try a fuel controller first and see if that will bring my r's up alittle.

I'm pulling a hill at 8000 and 8150 on the flats with 68gms 1gm in the tip. running the slp pipe, brad's head. 163 clipped track.

Really came alive with the head. Jumped it up 300 r's at least.

if you dont mind doing more of a "kit" with helix, spring.delrins and weights there is some good info on question for those who have clutched their D-8's....

Thanks for all the replies guys.

They tried to sell me 68's too...doesn't make any sense since stock would be 10-58 Polaris weights...and if you add 4 to that like the website says that brings you to 62's:) I mean, I am an accountant and all;)

Anyway, trying the stock 58's now and will then order the correct MTX weight based off my testing.

Thanks again,

Ryan

My dealer did Polaris 60's in my stock setup and it has run awesome up til now. I know with lightening weights you have to go up but I'm not sure with MTX. Do you have to go up in weight (compared to stock weights)?

the mtx's are light vrs a 10 series..so you should order about 4 grams heavier for the weight...Ie a 10-64 = mtx 68...as for complete setup..try this thread..it has a lot of really good info on the D-8 clutching and what works ....
