SLP Intake filling with snow what to do?

Hey guys picked up a 900 rmk and it has the SLP intake. What do you guys suggest to keep snow from building up in there? Any material you would recommend to use any tricks ? I know i could use frogskinz but would like to find something local and cheaper if possible. I know I could just tape it off but want something that is still breathable. I am lookin to resolve this issue not buy an FNI or go back to stock.

Thanks,

Use SLP pre filter fabric

I covered all my hood screens and the nosepan screen with slp pre filter fabric.

Just a little bit of spray adhesive and a few plastic rivets and viola! - a snow proof hood and intake. Cheaper than frogskinz, too.

!

Sounds good I will have to order some of the pre filter material. Did you guys put the material on the inside of the vents or outside?

Outside only. if you put it on the inside, it will pack snow between the plastic grating and the fabric - which is why your slp airbox is filling with snow....

took some pics to make it easier

Don't forget to silicone body panel seams on belly pan and around bumper etc.
As you can see above they do pull apart ^^^ Snow will get in and around the box.

Thanks Motonggin sled looks awesome with those screens just as good as frogzkinz for alot less :) I ordered some pre filter material yesterday. So you just used spray adhesive and plastic rivets?

You're welcome! Yep, just 3m spray adhesive. Use a very, very light coat or the adhesive will soak right through the fabric and it won't look so good. On the brake screen - because of the way it is curved, I used it just on the back after I had the fabric set in place and the screen installed. Make sure you can readily get the rivets, I had to order some from my local auto parts store.

Yes, silicone is great. I used it to fix a bit of a crack in my nosepan so I don't have to go through the major pain in the a** of removing and re-riveting and siliconing ALL the plastic in the middle of the season.
